'La Parolina' translates to 'little word' in English, but this restaurant deserves all the plaudits and Michelin stars it has already acquired.
Located on the edge of the triangle of Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, this restaurant is worth the visit. It is relatively close to the famous Fonteverde thermal spa at San Casciano, and is beside the old schoolhouse on the edge of Trevinano village.
Head chef, 'Issy' runs her restaurant with all the high standards of the successful traditional Italian family business. Owned by Iside and Romano, her co-chef husband, and with Federico operating as a front of house gentleman; they make a great team.
A small word could never do justice to the cuisine at La Parolina. Dishes reflect the various seasons and are beautifully presented. The food is exquisite and there are always brilliant surprises for the palate. I am fortunate to have eaten here many times over the last few years and the standard has always been exemplary.
The winelist is most impressive but there are also more modestly priced local wines.
Rather than trying to describe the sense of taste, smell and aura of the food at La Parolina; I would highly advise making the trip to have a fantastic meal which you will never forget.
One of the best restaurants which I have ever dined at.
