“Great accommodation and facilities for a family”
Reviewed August 8, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Stayed at Borgo Libbiano July/Aug 2016 with two young children (6 and 9 years old) and had an amazing time. Stayed in Cellini Apartment.

The directions we received to find the accommodation were faultless and took us right to the door where we were given a friendly greeting by Benedetta who was always on hand to help throughout our stay. The apartment itself was spotless and very comfortable, plenty of space to relax and the added bonus of a small private outdoor area with a table and chairs, so once the children were in bed at night we could sit outside comfortably.

The pool was great with spectacular views and plenty of sun beds / umbrellas for everyone staying there. The kids loved the pool and that it's all on one level (no deep end) made it ideal for them to play in with the other children staying there without going out of their depth too much.

Tips - you do definitely need a car, it's a 10 / 15 minute drive to the nearest supermarket, very easy to find though. The road up and down to Borgo di Libbiano is slightly hairy, single track for most of it but it's a quiet road and only on a couple of occasions did we come across anything coming the other way. Take plenty of mosquito repellent - it's the countryside, there are lots of them!

Only negative and it's very minor was the wi-fi which was a bit slow and there was no signal within the apartment. Benedetta did explain that new equipment had been ordered and so once the August "holiday closedown" in Italy is over it should arrive and be able to be installed to improve it.

We mainly stayed in the immediate locale as the aim of our holiday was to relax, did go to Volterra (about 45min drive away), Florence (took train from Pontedera) and to the beach at Vada a couple of times (about 60 min drive, toll road). Peccioli is the nearest local town and is lovely wander around and everyone was very friendly, great morning coffee location and very good pizza place in the square.

So, as a family, great location, very relaxing, great holiday!

“Definately a winner”
Reviewed July 30, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

sigh... we just returned today from our 8 days at the Borgo di Libbiano. already missing it. The property itself is sort of a collection of old and new, the ancient farmhouse and church located on top of the hill really gives you a feeling of being away from it all. Bernadetta and her husband (Carlo?) are the consummate caretakers, I believe Bernadetta speaks 20 languages and she seems to know just about everything in the area. Lovely people. from train schedules to restaurants a brilliant concierge. The property is a tad off the beaten path but if you want the views you have to do this. And there are some great views to be had. We would have preferred a patio, but our second story (or first story) unit had a spot close by, so look carefully at the descriptions. The pool, the furnishings and the set up, would definitely go back - Bernadetta - we will see you soon!

“Live like a local...”
Reviewed April 18, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Pre-arrival contact and coordination was the best I've experienced. Friendly, helpful and provided all the information we needed about how to get there and the local area. Easy to get to (with the fabulous directions) from Pisa airport.

The design of the space is stunning. You're sure to gasp with delight upon entering (we did). We had flat 19 and it had a fabulous view. Open plan kitchen and lounge room. Door that opened onto grassy area with a breathtaking view.

The place is a part of a community. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We even watched kittens being born to a cat in the caretaker's family!

Lots to do and see nearby.

It took a long time for all of us to agree about where to go etc. When we saw this there was no dissension. After having visited we all felt that it was the right choice. We had a fabulous time!

I have just been away with my granddaughter to Libbiano in Italy. What a delightful place situated between Florence and Pisa. We were met by Carl and Naomi who answered all our questions during the week. The apartments had everything we needed and was in an excellent condition throughout. I am thoroughly looking forward to returning for another holiday next year.

“Just stunning”

First impressions of Libbiano are the stunning Cypress tree lined road which winds up towards the apartments, we were met by the ever friendly Carl and Naomi with a welcome pack and lots of information on the area, where to go and eat etc. which proved brilliant information.

The apartments themselves are all beautiful, all different and newly renovated retaining traditional Tuscan architectural features like terracotta floors and beamed ceilings but balanced with contemporary kitchens, bathrooms and furniture. Also some of the apartments like the one we stayed in retain original features like a beautiful fireplace.

Found the apartments to be really central for visiting all the tourist places like Volterra (Twilight movies) and San Gimignano either before spending time at the pool or afterwards which kept the kids happy. Local towns are superb for eating and bar visiting also; wood fired Pizza in the local pizzeria's is just amazing.

The whole area is just stunning and there is so much to do and see. We caught the train to Florence from the local station which was really easy and is a must do on any trip to Tuscany.

Have recommended Libbiano to some friends who play Golf as Castelfalfi golf resort is minutes away and they love Italy.

Best holiday in years "5 star" and we will be back next year.
