Description: ON HOLIDAY: Closed from Feb.17 to March 4, 2019 Restaurant Pavus is situated in a small castle overlooking the town of Lasko. Easy accesible on foot from city center or by car. Visit for the view and choose from a varitiy of Lasko beer or a wide choice of local wines, have a dessert or a lavish dinner. The restaurant is family run and chef Marko Pavcnik is one of the top 10 chefs in Slovenia. His food is based on local ingridients and extensive knowledge of mordern culinary tehniques. Combined with the castle architecture will provide you a coulinry expirience to remember.

This could be THE place to eat in Slovenia. The setting is wonderful - the open-air courtyard of a storybook castle perched high above the pretty town of Lasko, where they brew the most delicious beer. And the food is fantastic - the best food we've had anywhere in Slovenia, imaginatively presented, and brought to our table by the chef himself. Delicious herb soup, succulent veal and an amazing pavlova - and most of the food is locally sourced too. Highly recommended.

the setting is perfect-the courtyard of the old castle in Lasko with views of the mountains, town and valley. The chef Marko Pavcnik is inspirational - herby soup with parmesan polenta, tortellini with crab and crayfish, buttery chicken with asparagus, a pavlova to die for with moist meringue and tiny redcurrants and blackcurrants. The Slovenian wines are delicious. Marko's wife helped us choose. She's an anglophile and made us welcome. The whole meal for four of us came to about 130 euros.
