This hotel is set in a recently for a refurbished castle/manor house which has been beautifully tastefully done. The surrounding grounds are simply exquisite. Fabulous restaurant and extremely friendly and helpful staff. If there were tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, this would be five stars from me.
We were here for two nights and experienced a well maintained and very peaceful place in the middle of Latvian countryside. Both the hotel and the grounds has character. The staff is very friendly and it is almost impossible to stress here. We stayed in very nice rooms in the barn. This is a place to go if you want to do nothing, and just relax.
Chose this place and you will not regret.
The manor looks amazing and so does the surroundings. We stayed there with a larger group, about 35 people for one night and got a group discount. Breakfast was absolutely delicious.
When we arrived and got our rooms it was extremely hot outside and inside. My room wasn't in the main building, but in a smaller one next to it. There was an air conditioner inside the room, but it didn't work. So I asked help from the staff and they said the air conditioner has been broken for a while now and apologised for the inconvenience. I also couldn't open the windows because the mosquitos got in. I have travelled to tropical places many times and usually enjoy the heat, but this time it was too much. Also I saw how another room with the same problem got a fan, but I didn't. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep all night.
Overall the hotel is quite nice.

The bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Obviously redone recently.
Only letdown are the rooms themselves. The furniture is a mess. The beds are too low and the mattresses are old and really uncomfortable. We couldn't sleep all night.
The restaurant has minimal options but they were happy to serve things that were not on the menu.
Overall, a happy place. Worth a stop.
We've been visiting Dikli palace several times with my wife and stayed for 1-2 nights in almost all types of rooms. It is a great place to have a quite and calm rest, pretty expensive for a hotel outside the city though. Kitchen is very good, their chief is cooking excellent food! We are not vintage lovers, but there are things that you can enjoy if you are, specially fireplaces, furniture and other interior. The main reason of our visits were calmness and the SPA with swimming pool, 2 saunas and jakuzzi underground. You can rent the whole SPA for a very good price. Staff is very polite and kind. Would highly recommend to friends that are going to Valmieras side. Taking the opportunity, would like to thank all Dikli palace staff for a great time we spent!
