Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Tyrrelstown
Reviewed July 18, 2014

We stayed at the Carlton having arrived in Dublin from Holyhead following a two week car cation taking in most of the UK. Needless to say when my wife and I arrived with our four year old we were past ourselves! Check in was swift and friendly and our room was beautiful. Really spacious and modern with floor to ceiling windows. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with separate power shower which was excellent; the best of our trip in fact. The flat screen TV was built into a unit on the wall and it was very difficult to operate. Thankfully we didn't have time to watch TV. Wifi was included but a bit hit and miss. Ended up skyping my dad in the hallway which wasn't ideal! The hotel is really close to the Blanchardstown shopping park which looked very american like and impressive. We ate in TGI Fridays there which was fun. Food was very good. We were also impressed with how close the hotel was to Dublin Airport; no more than 10 mins and dead easy to drive to. It's more problematic finding the hotel in fact as other reviewers have stated. We were coming from the docks area and it was quite hairy at times! Biggest disappointment was breakfast. It was on until 1030 and at 1030 on the dot it was whipped away. I think if this is the case you need to plan in 30 minutes slippage so advertise it as finishing at 1000. We witnessed a family arriving at 1015 and by the time they sorted out their wee ones there was very little time left. I have stayed in many 4 star hotels and breakfast never completes until at least half an hour after the advertised time. We arrived down at 1000 and the place was like a bomb site, tables littered with dirty plates, poor selection and generally messy. There simply was not enough staff on. We had to ask twice for tea. The breakfast element was more like a two star experience; it was as though we had entered a different hotel. Overall though I think this is a great spot and would definitely come back. It would be great to see a park and fly rate introduced.

We stayed at Carlton in Blanchardstown for 3 nights for a family break. Lovely hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful and were accommodating to our needs and that of our 2 year old. Rooms were lovely, though room wasnt fully serviced upon our check in, and bar area etc was quite grubby but I wouldnt let that put you off staying here as its a lovely hotel, food drink and staff excellent. Would definatly stay again

Our family celebrations went off beautifully. Our 3 course meal was beautiful, well presented and very reasonably priced @24.95. We stayed over night and the value, comfort and quality extended to our room. The pleasure and joy was in their service, from the bar staff to the restaurant service their priorities were for my family and I'll always remember them for this. Thank you very much from my family

have stayed here many times and most recently last weekend for a family members party. The staff were amazing couldn't be more helpful and they are the friendliest bunch. A big party came in as it was the weekend and when requested they gave our bunch a quieter room to continue our celebrations.. Amazing food and a huge variety for breakfast..
The grounds are also lovely and only a couple of minutes away from tyrrellstown village..
Definitely recommend staying here and looking forward to our next stay!

Have stayed here numerous times, and have yet to find anything wrong.

Restaurant serves best steak I have tasted with all the trimmings and at a great price.
This alone would keep me returning!

Excellent location, away from the hustle &bustle of the City, but with a drive for shopping or sightseeing.

Will continue to return to this friendly, professionally staffed hotel.

Very clean accommodation, friendly & helpful staff, decent looking breakfast buffet. Stayed here with 2 young teens prior to early flights to France next am (needed to be at airport 7am and we live 3hrs drive from airport).
Hotel is a little hard to find even for my hubby who is from Swords nearby, we called twice for directions and reception staff got us there fine! We paid with Tesco vouchers €160 for 4 People b&b - seems a little high for a hotel on the outskirts but always that way when using the vouchers, you don't get any other other " discounts" avail on offer.
Hotel room & bathroom very clean, spacious, second small office/bedroom area for one of the kids. I think you can stay here with up to 5 people if younger kids, you would be a little cramped but I've stayed in smaller!
We arrived at reception 6.30am to make our way to airport, they had fresh continental buffet out - fruit, croissants, yogurts etc. in breakfast dining area and were happy for us ( and several others) to grab a quick bite. Hot food was arriving when we had to leave and it looked reasonably good!
Only thing they forgot was to give us our wake-up call but thankfully we had set a phone. I advised reception staff and they were genuinely apologetic.
I would stay here again and recommend to family visiting who needed a base near Dublin par port.
