Stayed here in a family room for one night, Saturday 29th March, a mini getaway. Can’t really fault this hotel. Doesn’t look impressive when driving up to it, but definitely the interior makes up for that! Its in Tyrellstown, not Blanchardstown, as mentioned in previous reviews, so make sure this is programmed into your sat nav.
There isn’t much in the surrounding area but we didn’t mind this as we’d done our research before we went, and we were only going for one night so we didn’t have a lotta time to kill. A small village is within walking distance of the hotel, with one or two pubs, a Lidl, a Super Valu and some takeaways but only one restaurant that we could find and it was Asian, so if you wanted a bigger variety of eateries, you wouldn’t be spoilt for choice. We chose to ate in the hotel itself.
Staff at check in were friendly and efficient, the only complaint I have is that we arrived at 3.30pm, the room wasn’t ready for nearly an hour, we chilled in the bar so that was fine. The receptionist apologised, but it was the fault of inconsiderate guests who were still in the room at that time, a full 3 hours after check out! Come on folks, catch a grip, short of breaking into a room and frog marching guests outside, its hardly the hotel’s fault people are reluctant to leave. No doubt there would be lots of complaints if the room wasn’t cleaned to an acceptable standard, but that depends greatly on the allocated time given to staff between guests checking out and the next group checking in.
The room was lovely, this is a relatively new hotel and it showed, everywhere was fresh and clean and the decor ultra modern, I really liked it. Mini fridge in the room, which was a nice touch, and absolutely spotless. All the usual amenities, hairdryer, iron and tea/coffee making facilities. You could control the temp in the room via a thermostat and we were cosy and warm all night.
Hard-working and pleasant staff in both the restaurant and bar, the food in the hotel was delicious, well presented and not overly expensive. No complaints there at all.
All in all we had a lovely stay, and we were more than happy from a value for money perspective.
