We visited this national park twice during our summer holiday in Verudela. I was here back in 1997 and was anxious to see how much has changed. The good thing is that the environment and water quality has not changed. It's fantastic. You can basically find any type of beach / cove depending on your taste or preferences. If you have kids I would recommend you the beach "Pinizule" , "Plovanije" or "Debeljak" as they have a nice access to shallow water. "Krsine" has somewhat a more difficult access down the water but once you get stationed there it's very accomodating and fun especially for the kids. We went there with a 1yo baby and were fine so you will be too! If you would like to explore a small cave right on the sea or try jumping off the cliffs then "Kolombarica" is the one for you. You can find at least 2-3 bars on the island (njive, safari ,...) where you can get basic croatian stuff to drink and eat. We did not try it therefore cannot comment on the quality. The entrance fee to the national park is 35kuna per car per day. Unless you go at least 6 times during your stay, it's not worth buying anything else than an individual day ticket.

This place was recommended to us by the Hotel Staff in Pula, where we were staying. They said it has the nicest beaches, and it's quite true. However if you go by car or take a taxi, make sure you take it all the it all the way to the beach, because the park itself is quite dusty and boring, and it's a long walk to the beach, especially in 40 degrees Celsius. :) The beach though is really the best/ most beautiful we visited on the Istria. Take goggles to admire the fist swimming around you, and aqua shoes to dodge any nasty sea urchins!

This place is amazing. The natural beauty is stunning, the facilities are good enough, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed. The park advocates a responsible way of being in nature, which is great.

You will require a car to get around, but then it's great to switch spots every couple of hours and enjoy a different kind of beach or scenery. There's something to enjoy for people from all different ages. Just make sure to bring water shoes and plenty of water and you will have a great time.

Kamenjak National Park is best in high season/hot summer of course, but some of its facilities/bars are open already in late May. Such is the Safari Beach Bar, which, despite their attempt to hide it from visitors as best they can (no official guide book or travel agency advertises is, only word of mouth), it is found and visited by people around the globe, and even in horrid weather, which we have experienced during our stay between 23-26 May, 2013, the place can be relatively packed. They have made some really creative additions to their "fun park", and tables and huts as well, to accomodate approx. 50 to 100 people at the same time. Their prices are still reasonable, their food delicious, their staff friendly, and their design unique and creative. Pet-friendly (they have a "dog bar")/family-friendly, lover-friendly (you can stay in a secluded corner for as long as you like) environment. I am wondering when they will add free wi-fi service, Then I shall move there permanently :-)

The place is idyllic. Miles of unspoilt countryside and quiet beaches, with views to die for. Unfortunately, there were signs of 'cheesiness' starting to rear their ugly head. A brand new Souvenir shop, No please, No. There's also some sort of entrance being built. I really hope I'm wrong, but it appears that this wonderful place is in danger of becoming as tacky as so many other attractions. Don't miss the Safari Bar while you're there.(Separate review)
