Having read the reviews I have to say I feared the worst, but then when your'e on a stag do finding places to take a 20+ booking isn't easy. The room we were in on the first night was in an annex and slept four with an on suite. The space was cramped, so much so I worried I may end up in the wrong bed if I rolled over!

The next day we had to transfer room as the four bedded room was booked with another group. This required us to keep our belongings in the car whilst they serviced the rooms. Hardly ideal, but indicative of the chaotic organisation.

The second night in a room for two was worse than the four bedded room. Cramped, little light and decor from years and years gone by. It reminded me of a student bedsit.

We didn't try the much mentioned all you can eat breakfast so can't comment on that.

The check in staff whilst friendly enough couldn't locate all our bookings on their highly tippexed room lists, leading to some of the group waiting around for ages to check in.

The only saving grace was the price which was extremely cheap for a place so well located for Headingly. Had it not been for that then the hotel would definitely be getting one star!

By far and away the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I still can't believe how bad the room was. Dirty. If you get a basement room ask to move - in fact do not book this place AT ALL!

Having booked the hotel for one night prior to the 1 Day Cricket International we arrived fearing the worse after reading the reviews.
The location was brilliant for Headingley. We had a room at the top of the hotel with shared facilities which were clean with plenty hot water..
The room was perfectly adequate, clean bedding and a view of the cricket ground.
The bus right outside took us into Leeds city centre for a meal.
The breakfast was first class and the staff friendly and polite.
Value for money and would have no worries about bookin again

Just got back and what a relief. Where do I start? Worst place I have ever stayed. £50 down the drain! 2 good things, location & friendly staff BUT terrible room!!! Stank. Room in basement, tiny window opened next to the hotels drains so had the lovely smell of sewage in room which smelled like a stink bomb even with the window shut. Dirty room which has not been decorated for a LONG time, including a v.poor pink shower room. Very, very dark & 1970's bed sit like. Owners should really do something about this! didn't want to touch anything in the room bacouse it was so dirty & smelly. Found hairs in the bed!!! Which did not look clean. Left at 7 in morning (check out at 11) without breakfast because room so atrocious!! Run down is an understatement. Beware!

Had a pretty terrible stay, thin walls mean you can hear everybody else and their TV's; doors banging all night and worst of all was the smell of dope being smoked.

I took a single for 2 nights, & it was pretty basic, but reasonably clean. Really handy for Headingley cricket ground or the rugby as it is literally 2 mins round the corner. Not keen on the idea of settling your bill on arrival, dont find this very trusting, but the best bit of the stay is the "great yorkshire breakfast", this sets you up for the day. All in all, ok for a couple of nights, but might not suit for a long stay.
