Rooms very large and comfortable with everything you would expect of a 4 star hotel.
Food and choice of wine was excellent at the Grill Restaurant. Friendly staff and good service without being intrusive. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, including a variety of fresh fruit.

The golf was good and challenging, given that some of the fairways are on a very steep slope.

Would definitely visit again.

HOTEL
On arrival the resort looks very impressive. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Couldn't fault the food! We had evening meal in the grill bar but it was very noisy in there.
SPA
As for the spa it was a shambles. Asked to be there for 09:30 and then they book your treatment at 17:00. so there was no time to relax afterwards as they were closing at 18:00. It was not the relaxing and chill out experience you would expect for your money. Jacuzzi was not in use. An overcrowded swimming pool. Cold rooms. Didn't get the 55 minute halo drizzle massage.

I attended a wedding at this resort that was a sham from the moment the poor bride tried to enter until check out the next day. They appear to book many weddings in this hotel on one day and are most defiantly not able to cope with. Check in was at 3, with the wedding at 3.30, but we were assured check in would be swift and on time. Arriving at 2.45 desperate for a smooth check in and were told to come back at 4. I politely explained we were guests at a wedding at 3.30 and had come straight from work, so needed to change. A manager had to be called before the very rude receptionist would even listen to us.

The wedding felt like we were on a production line and as soon as dessert spoons were put down we were told to leave the room. Food was not up to anything like the standard one would expect for the price, but was hot and served politely. My room was just grim for the cost. We had two single beds zipped together, which we were told was standard at hotels. All I can say is most hotels must have better quality zips as ours prevented a nights sleep. Breakfast was nice, as was the breakfast waiting staff, but at check out it was back to the poor customer service we revived at check in.

We also had some treatments in the spa. I had a back massage and a facial.the back massage was great but the facial was just sell sell sell product, so nothing relaxing at all.

All in all I would not stay at this hotel again. The price is quite ridiculous for the standards offered, and whilst the catering staff were lovely, the reception staff were clear trained at the school of Basil Faulty. I felt sorry for the brides mum who I know was deeply upset at the disappointment the day brought.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel and staff excellent. Quite expensive but company was paying expenses. Great food and wine. Room was first class and enjoyed the hotel pool and spa. Will recommend to friends and family.

We booked this hotel for three nights as a spa break for two, and upon arrival were impressed with the overall look of the hotel as a first impression and the room was a good size with balcony overlooking the golf course and small lake.

However things started to go down hill on visiting the spa as the reception was abrupt and rushed (although not busy at the time)- not at all what you expect when looking to relax.

For dinner we went to the hotel bar/restaurant called the vale and rosette award winning according to the hotels website. However the service was poor and restaurant loud and the food not that great with poor menu choice.

The hotel is overall slightly tired and worn once you look past the initial grandeur, and we found customer service virtually non existent.

Room Tip: Request to be overlooking the lake as some rooms overlooked bins or the car park.

A last minute decision to visit the Vale Resort for afternoon tea. My last visit for a bar lunch was poor and I was a little apprehensive on this occasion. No need to worry we had an excellent late afternoon experience. All the staff were extremely courteous and friendly from reception to restaurant waitresses while the afternoon tea was well presented with a varied choice of tuna, smoked salmon, chicken, ham and tomato and cheese and tomato sandwitches accompanied with a large selection of cakes, scones with jam and fresh cream , and a selection of strawberries and raspberries. Well done all at the Vale Resort. How nice to return and be able to write a good review.
