“A brilliant romantic stay”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Booked a Sunday night spa package with dinner and overnight stay with my boyfriend on 22nd Dec - expecting it to be super busy before Xmas, but was very peaceful and quiet.

Checked into our room, which was lovely. A big comfy bed and plasma tv. Clean bathroom with separate bath and large shower. Overall very pleased and nothing to complain about.

Got given robe and slippers when we arrived at the spa. Each had a 55min aromatherapy massage which was in a lovely relaxing dark room. Both enjoyed a lot. Then the best bit was the sleep zones that followed. Already feeling sleepy and tired after our massages, we were shown to the area of relaxation beds/water beds where we could make the most of the tranquil atmosphere and fall asleep!

Then ventured down into the swimming pool/jacuzzi/steam room area. Not busy at all and very refreshing after our nap. Everywhere was very clean. We then went to the gym for a short session. Large gym with a good variation of equipments and weights. Changing rooms were lovely.

Next was dinner in the grill. We had a £29 allowance each and could choose anything off the menu - although there wasn't a huge choice. We didn't realise this money was only for food and not for drinks, so we ordered less food than we cold have got, no biggie. The food and wine we had were fantastic. I had the pork and my bf had the lamb which was equally as yummy. We enjoyed every bit of it. Not busy and service was good.

Breakfast in the morning was in the same place. Very impressed there was a huge selection of all hot/cold breakfast foods. All which you could help yourself to. Checked out, no hassle and receptionist was very friendly.

We absolutely loved our stay and we could not fault the hotel one bit. I would highly recommend it as a relaxing break for anyone. Would love to good back! :)

Booked three rooms for my family for the festive break, principally because we did not want to stay at home. From check-in to check-out, staff and facilities were flawless. The package included all food over the two night stay (including Christmas lunch) all of which was fantastic. Despite working over Christmas, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: We stayed in standard rooms (which were still extremely good) but seemed a fair trek - there are hig...

Ten of us had a wonderful new year package! The reception staff were very helpful and cheerful, all the staff on new years eve worked very hard and we had a fabulous evening! I had a super spa treatment with Amelia on new years day! First class, thank you! We also ate at the hotel on new years day evening and the food was first class too! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the golf was good but would have been great if ground was not so wet!! Would definitely go back again for a third visit.

Room Tip: Try for the first floor. Most of us had second floor rooms which had eaves! A little tricky getting...

The room was average, could hear our next door neighbour coughing all night. Bar expensive. Limited menu for evening meal. Breakfast just ok. Facilities for disabled. Hotel location not near to other resteraunts so a taxi would be required if you want to drink whilst venturing further

Living only ten minutes away from this hotel we tend to forget that we have a World Class Hotel & Spa right on our doorstep.

My recent stay was in conjunction with a corporate hospitality sporting Dinner arranged by MBN.

The hotel arranged the rooms for all our attendees with just one call.

The rooms were excellent as was the meet and greet by the reception staff.

The Salamanza Bar provided a relaxed atmosphere to meet our guests – Reasonably priced too!!

The food provided at the function was exceptional despite catering for over 150 people.
After a good night we all convened for an excellent breakfast before giving our farewells...

This is a great hotel and very worthy of a visit if in the area....

Room Tip: First Floor Rooms are all good

2 days business.
Private dining evening one. Food okay, forgot 1 meal, we waited but had to eat as it was going cold. Service was good, selection of wines very good.
Evening two, Xmas party night, Abba ( welsh version) good evening, good laugh, food for 200 peeps always a challenge.
Rooms were okay, nothing special.
Summary was the 4 stars are given for the facilities, golf spa etc not the food or hotel standard.
I would not book a weekend for the wife and I, many better places available.

Room Tip: Exec room a must, even if not value
