“Beautiful place and surroundings!!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

The setting is beautiful. The staff are friendly and the food was incredible. An all round winner! Especially on a warm and sunny day, sat out on the terrace by the vines. You could easily let the world pass you buy here. Will be returning soon.

This is located in a lovely vineyard (yes a vineyard in Wales!) with great walks around it and plenty of parking. Although it is outside of the city of Cardiff, the roads are good and it is very quick and easy to get there. The accommodation is in a newly developed block and has been done out very nicely indeed. It is spotlessly clean, warm, has good furnishings, great bedding from the White Company plus a good bathroom and excellent towels. It also has a microwave, fridge and kettle, which are brilliant if you are staying for a few days. Breakfast is in the nice restaurant area with a lovely conservatory overlooking the vineyard. My only slight disappointment was the haphazard breakfast service, which although OK-ish could do with some attention so that it matches the real quality of the rest of the operation e.g. ‘real’ bread rather than sliced and certainly not the ‘end of loaf crusts’ as we were given toasted. In addition, someone needs to be taught how to make scrambled eggs, which were inedible. Nevertheless, this place is great value with excellent rooms, and when the breakfast service is properly sorted then it can aspire to being top class.

We arrived late on a Sunday evening to stay here before our return home on Monday. Communication before we arrived was very good, with an email to let us know where our room key would be.

When we arrived we found the room to be large and comfortable with a very big bed. The room was well equipped with a fridge and microwave and hot drink making facilities. There were two wine glasses, plates and bowls in the cupboard together with a couple of ramekins. The only mildly disappointing thing was the cups rather than mugs for hot drinks. I had half a sachet of hot chocolate as a full one would have been too much for a cup.

There was a hair dryer with a diffuser in the room and toiletries in the bathroom.

After a good night's sleep we went for breakfast. I couldn't find in the information in the room what time breakfast was served from and til so we thought we had better head over by 9.30am just in case. It may have been in there but I looked through the information folder and did not come across it.

Breakfast was nice. There were cereals and yogurts as well as fruit and a cooked selection (cooked to order). We both had a cooked breakfast which was very nice and consisted of 4 cherry (vine) tomatoes, 3 rashers of bacon, a sausage, 2 eggs (choice of fried or poached), some mushrooms and a little pot of beans. We also got a couple of slices of toast each. It was just the right amount for me but I was ready for my lunch at 12.30pm so I think it was definitely fine for a breakfast but not one of those breakfasts that fills you up for most of the day.

All in all I would definitely recommend this as somewhere comfortable and quiet to stay, just off the M4. If we return to the area next year I would probably book here again.

Stayed here for just 1 night, when we arrived at 3.10pm our suite was not ready, we needed to get changed etc to go for the evening, we were given a studio room to use which was lovely and I would of been very happy to stay there the night. But when we moved to our room the Cariad Suite WOW! It was amazing so spacious we had lounge area massive bedroom with a super king bed and the most wonderful bathroom... All lovely and clean, fresh, And beautiful views, I really couldn't fault that room. Breakfast was average nothing over the top, the full breakfast was very small also the croissant I had we're burnt and cold. Overall lovely place and would recommend to anyone i would certainly return!

We have just returned from a week stay in the self catering cottage at Llanerch Vineyard. It was more than we could possibly of hoped for!
1. Accommodation was excellent, everything we needed was in the cottage. The 2 single beds had been made into a double as per our request and was very comfortable!
2. The vineyard and grounds are excellent and the woodland walk allows time fora leisurely stroll to see the ducks and take lots of pictures.
3. The staff were all excellent. Probably the friendliest staff we have ever encountered!
4. Ryan may be hound to have embarked on such a business venture but he has done an excellent job, nothing is too much trouble and he made useful like friends not just guests!
5. Food and wine........excellent. There own dry wine is a must to try...we have brought plenty home to enjoy and to share with friends and family.
6. Last but by no means least the lovely Bella. She is the most obedient dog I have ever met, she does not approach residents unless told to do so and does not enter the bar area with out Ryan telling her to come through. We had a joke with Ryan about someone saying on Trip advisor that they felt uncomfortable with Bella......if you are not dog people she will not bother you I am unsure why anyone would have an issue with Bella!!?? We told Ryan we would make a funny title for the review about Bella!!
We arrived home yesterday and have phoned today to book another week next year but we will be back before them for a long weekend!
Thank You to Ryan, Bell and all staff for our excellent time!!

Room Tip: Only tip we would give is........GO!!

I stayed here for a girls weekend in May and was not disappointed. The welcome was friendly and the rooms were spacious, well maintained and very clean. great big beds and big bathroom. We eat in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellant , it was nce touch with the canapes.
The only disappointing thing was the breakfast on the sunday morning, the staff seemed to be rushed as they have to prepare for lunch and the food was poor. I ordered scrambled eggs, when it came the toast was very hard and burnt as though it had been stood for most of morning and the eggs were overcooked and very rubbery, this also applied to my friends. I have booked to go back for one night but i hope the breakfasts have improved.

We enjoyed our one night stay in one of the superior Studios. We arrived quite late about 7pm and went straight to our room to freshen up. It was a very spacious room with a lovely bathroom. All completely refurbished. So we were more than happy. The bed was the best I have slept in. Very large and very comfortable. We had not booked anywhere to eat for the evening so we asked if we could have a table. Thank goodness we were able as the place was a little bit out of the way. We enjoyed good food. Steak, Chips and vegetables and Cheese and biscuits for dessert which was very enjoyable. Our breakfast was nicely cooked. We had the English breakfast. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And the surroundings peaceful and well looked after. It was a shame we could not have spent another day there.

Room Tip: I would imagine all the rooms would be refurbished and comfortable.
