Ian and Kathy pulled the stops out last Friday night to help me celebrate being 50 with the help of my schoolmates! We had a brilliantly varied menu and great service as always. Everyone really enjoyed the food, the company and Ian proved a dab hand with a camera. Very few of the group had been before so they were full of praise of the whole experience. For the record I had a delicious pear and Stilton soup, chicken and chorizo risotto for the main followed by a rich chocolate pot. As we had complete use of the restaurant the atmosphere was very relaxed and judging by the contents of my gift bag it was probably as well! All in all this was a Scottish food and hospitality at its best. Thank you, Ian and Kathy!

Well Alan, thank you for your kind review! So glad you enjoyed the party to celebrate the momentous occasion of your 50th. Your group was great fun and a delight to serve. Your birthday outfit was very impressive and I do hope that Ian’s photography did it justice. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

Yet again my wife and I enjoyed the hospitality and great food from this tremendous bistro.

Ian and Kathy made us very welcomed and provided us with the best food and drink that the Northern Highlands can offer, the experience to sample their culinary expertise should not be missed.

Once again, thank you so much Ian and Kathy for providing us with the finest cooking in Scotland.

Martin & Diane

A very warm welcome from Ian at the beginning of our fourth and definitely not the last visit to Crannag Bistro made us feel very much at home. We tried the regional whisky: excellent selection! We were blown away by the cheese soufflé, the venison and the lamb. The wine recommendation was superb accompanied by a perfect service and an interesting conversation!
What a wonderful evening! Watch out, Kathy and Ian, we will be back!

Visited this Restaurant when on holiday. Quite expensive for what you have and found the owner to be quite sharp in his comments to the point that we never returned.

Do you mean ‘sharp’ as in pointy stick, or ‘sharp’ as in quick witted? You clearly enjoyed your meal with us on the last evening of your holiday, but my refusal to be drawn by your persistent interrogations on my personal stance regarding the “ridiculous” referendum, apparently spawned this review. Slightly unfair, don’t you think? Ian

This was a last minute booking as we only stumbled upon the place that afternoon and have to say - what a find! From the moment we arrived to the time that we left we experienced nothing but first rate and friendly service. The food was suburb and would definitely go again when next in the area.
