Based on recommendation of an old guest in Il Selvino, I've been with my mum and my 2 girls over there. Homepage already looked promising and there was nothing missing!
We had wonderful relaxing week at the pool, so we even prolonged our stay.
My girls are 8 and 5 and they had a lot of fun at the pool!
I'd like to say THANK YOU to everybody over there and I hope to see you in 2010!

We booked a tour with Arianna and Friends to do a cooking class with our teenage son and my wife and stayed at Il Selvino. The entire experience was exceptional, the room was clean and spacious, the large pool amongst the pine trees was exceptional as was the overall setting. However more than that the family that runs Il Selvino were the wonderful. The cooking experience with Esther and Arianna was a tremendous experience. Our son wants to be a chef so this was a part of the holiday he was really looking forward to but we all had a wonder ful time, learned lots and shared a wonderful experience with people who genuinely cared about your trip.

The farm house served as a good base for exploring the area - Volterra, Lucca, wineries, and even the highly anticlimactic Piza. Great mornings of exploring and then afternoons in the pool with some local wine.

if you are going to Tuscany take the time and stay at Il Selvino.

We stayed in a two bedroom 90m2 apartment in the second floor. We enjoyed it very very much and could list a lot of things we liked: The wonderful
and esthethic premises of the estate; the esthetic pool and the pines around it; the pitoresque Tuscanian nature and landscape; the singing of birds in the morning in the olive trees and the romantic atmosphere during the dinner when Marissa and Esther were cooking; the wonderful Tuscanian food, wine and olive oil; the harmony between the architecture, nature and landscape; the proximity to the cultural and historical centers like Firenze, Siena, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra etc. But, for us the main factor which makes the real difference is the warm hospitality and authenticy of the people. We travel a lot for business purposes and have experience with big and expensive hotel chains, however, we believe that no hotel chain can replace the atmosphere of a privatly run little hotel served by dedicated and passionate people like in this case. We very much appreciated the time Alessandro (the owner) took to show us the wonderful farm and to answer our questions. We had two wonderful weeks!

We recently stayed here for 3 days for our wedding. We booked the entire accomodation and had an excellent experience. The owner was helpful and very friendly in every way.

The rooms are large, clean and modern with good bathrooms.

The venue is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.

The restaurant was rearranged for us so that we had one big table for all our guests and the food served every night was magnificent. We were able to pre order our food for the evening from a range of menus. We even had pizza made from the wood fired oven for our last evening, made by the owner of the venue.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend it for anyone planning to get married and looking for one location to house their guests, or for people looking for a nice place in the area.

The pool is a nice size and great fun if you are there as a group.

We found this on the Italian tourist board's agriturismo's website. It is situated on an olive farm and contains various buildings which are made up of either apartments or rooms. Because we booked so late we were only able to get one of their rooms although we would have liked an apartment but the room was on the ground floor and the double doors opened out with an outlook onto the gardens, which meant we could watch our children play outside. there was enough room to fit two extra beds in for our small children. Next door there was a little shared kitchen which meant we were able to store some food and drink in the fridge and warm milk etc in the microwave. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was taken outside in the little restuarant. They also serve evening meals on a few nights of the week and we ate twice there and it was wonderful, everyone sat together, the wine flowed and the food was delicious and all freshly prepared. The pool was great and there were always enough sun loungers to go around, there was a little play area which the children enjoyed. Alessandro and his family/staff made us feel really welcome and we would certainly return for what was a relaxing, peaceful holiday albeit very simple but was perfect. It is situated in a great location from Pisa airport and only took us 40 minutes to get there and also you are very close to lots of other sights, Volterra etc.
