“Gives Premier Inn a bad name”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Very disappointing. I stay in Premier Inns all over the country bur this was, frankly, terrible. This is a tired, run down property which has at one time had a refit to take on the Premier Inn brand, but not refurbishment. Spread over numerous buildings, access is by old fashioned keys and rickety wooden doors. I was greeted by a foisty, damp smell. Blood on the bed sheets. Mouldy bathroom seals. Black grout in the bathroom to attempt to hide the mould. Unclean bathroom surface. Cobwebs all over the place. Furnishings damaged. I could go on... but I'd advise, if you've read this far, to find another hotel. There are many more in this area and many more that live up to Premier Inn's fine reputation. Let's see if Premier Inn live up to their good night guarantee...

This hotel is not up to Premier Inns normally high standard. Granted we booked late, but the first room we were offered was in need of redecoration with leak damage and was very small, the second room smelled very strongly of damp and the third, which we accepted as it was very late at night by then, was good but tired, not up to premier inns normally dependable 'book it blind' standard. Shame really!

Myself and my husband returned from an overnight stay at this Premier Inn, and I must say we were both very happy with all aspects of out stay.
The rooms were very clean and good sized, with a very comfortable bed, quite firm, just how I like.
The service in the restaurant this morning was very good, theory that seated us and looked after us was genuinely friendly an helpful, she was efficient and we had to wait no time at all for our cooked breakfast.
I also thought the choice of food was very good.
Thank you Premier Inn, a happy stay was had by all of our group.

Just returned home after a 3 night stay at the Premier inn Weedon, everything from booking in to leaving was spot on. The staff cannot do enough for you, the room was large and clean, and well maintained. We had a room overlooking the car park and garden which was very quiet.
The breakfast is served in the Crossroads hotel next door and is well worth the money. it is well cooked to order, and the staff have it running like clockwork.
We had 3 evening meals there, the food was excellent and again the staff where outstanding.it was very busy but we where served with no delay.
A big thanks to Aileen (breakfasts) Alex / Charlotte and another young man who I did not get his man (evenings), for their hard work and making our stay enjoyable.

Perfect location for us halfway between Southampton and Yorkshire - we usually stay here 6 times a year, so do notice when things improve.

Lovely visit on this occasion. The receptionist, Shannon, could not have done more to make us feel welcome and valued as customers. Indeed, all the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and cheerful. They are a real asset to this establishment.

Our rooms 44 and 50 were comfortable, spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Fans and iced water are provided for when the weather is hot. Would recommend booking rooms at the back overlooking the fields as you do lose some of the traffic noise from the busy A5 which runs next to the hotel.

We had dinner and breakfast at the attached Chef and Brewer pub. Both meals were great, with generous helpings and good quality food.

Hotel is situated in a pleasant neighbourhood. Weedon Bec is pretty and there are some nice walks along the Grand Union Canal. There are lots of attractive little villages around this area of Northamptonshire with houses constructed in the local orangey coloured stone. eg Whilton, Norton, etc, etc.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are further from the main road so are quieter.

The staff were great, very friendly and have just taken over management recently.
We stayed one night here, great location. We were going for a falconry experience day up the road.
The rooms needs updating but they are getting around to this and they were very clean.

We booked a table in the restaurant for four, and were greeted with friendly staff upon arrival. I can only comment on the restaurant experience as we live fairly near to his place so we were not staying at the motel, we often wonder what it was like as we pass quite often.

we were taken to our table and our first impression was that it was cold, there was an air conditioning vent that was blowing icy cold air over our table and when the waitress arrived we asked if it could be turned off. she took our drinks order and left us with the menus. the aircon then went off, great.

a friendly chap arrived with the four drinks and after we had finished these we waited. eventualy the waitress arrived and told us that one of the specials had only one portion left, and that there were also no chilli prawns. shame.,

The drinks never came, after fifteem minutes I went to the bar and enquired what was happening, and five minutes later four drinks arrived with one white wine that should have been red. twenty minutes?
we ordered our food and finished the drinks and waited, fat chance of a third round, the food arrived.we ordered more drinks, and waited again. another twenty minutes.

my mate said the starter which was basically mushrooms on toast, was cold.
apparently there was a problem with the sharing fish platter and would we like scampi instead of prawns we said OK, when it arrived there were prawns on the plate Wierd or what?
We asked for the bread that came with the starters to be changed as it was curling at the edges, my wife thought it was toast, alas, it was not, strange, no butter was offered.

the main course arrived with our third round of drinks, my mate had a venison pie which looked great, however he said it was lukewarm and the centre was cold. apparently the pepper sauce was also only just warm. his wife did not comment but my vegetables were very, very, aldente.

The air conditioning then came back on with avengence. after a lukewarm meal, very slow drinks we decided that perhaps the place was not that good after all.

I guess that the waiters and waitresses are doing the best that they could under the circumstances but they must be under staffed, it cannot take that much time for what appeared to be a "drinks waiter" who first served us,, to keep a table of four drinking without a break. My mates meal could have been hot when cooked and perhaps allowed to cool down, however we suspect that perhaps it never made temperature in the first place as the following day both he and his wife were sick.
lots of niggly things that should be put right, next time we will go to the gastro pub up the road .
So Crossroads, we will not be coming back.
fellow readers beware.
