“Comfortable place to stay!”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Hotel us well place for visiting North Yorkshire moors & towns.
Whitby not far away, is well worth a visit.
Lots of small villages in the area are worth a visit.
Countryside is beautiful.
Visit was to see family, was nice to have a pleasant bar area to sit in and socialise!

Room Tip: Only two storey but book ground floor if you gave difficulty with stairs!

Room was clean and tidy. Bed very comfortable although the room itself was very warm. It was close to the wedding we were attending. The bar was ok but they did not seem to have many flavour crips etc left. The breadkfast was really good. Staff very friendly.

Large room and very comfortable and clean. A verynoisy location being next to a very busy road the A171. Poor mobile reception in the hotel. I was disappointed to find that it did not have the usual Premier Inn self serve cooked breakfast

Room Tip: Request back of the hotel away from the road but sadly poor mobile reception

Friendly staff away from the town but not to far as to make travel inconvenient. The food was very good, service fine, road noisy, the reception easy to use.,The restaurant had some old world charm with wood beams

A group of seven of us stayed for a week in this Premier Inn, which is attached to a nice old pub, the Cross Keys. The hotel is "budget", I suppose, but not all that cheap. However, it was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, bathroom en suite with a bath, tea and coffee and a tv in every room. The WiFi was a bit patchy. This Premier Inn is right on a very busy road, but the double glazing is very effective.
The continental breakfast is excellent at £6.25 pp. You can order a big bowl of porridge, and there's unlimited tea, coffee, juices cereals, pastries, toast, muffins, crumpets (pikelets), yogurts and seeds and fruit to put on your porridge.
The food on the Cross Keys is also pretty good. It's excellent value, and the selection is fine. We were there for a week, ate in every night, and enjoyed everything. The bar is quiet (no loud music) but very friendly.
The staff are terrific, and nothing is too much trouble. We were late back one evening, and they happily took orders for a meal for 7 very shortly before the kitchen was due to close.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front face on to a busy road, but have great views of Roseberry Topping and the Clevela...

Two night stay , first night whole family disturbed by other guest having TV on loud at 3 am in the morning, that was preceded by a meal in the restaurant which was over priced, avoid the mixed grill, the steak was no bigger than the palm of your hand, the fish ordered by other members of the family was rubbery and chewey
The room its self was looking a little tired with scuff marks all over the walls, could do with a repaint. in short not as good as some of the other Premier Inns that we have stayed in
all in all 5 out of 10

Pleasant pub the Cross Keys, a bit quiet early on but got busy as night progressed. Unfortunately no music or TV other than normal channels so as a lone traveller there was it was too quiet. Staff as ever very welcoming and helpful.
