We stayed at Gisborough Hall for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in room 224 of the Main Hall (Miss Cynthia's Room) - a large room, which was very clean and comfortable.

The food in the restaurant was very good, both for breakfasts and evening meal.

I think one of the best parts of the hotel has to be its staff - they were all so friendly and efficient.

This hotel should be used as a role model for customer service elsewhere in England, you couldn't fault it.

We went as a group of four to celebrate New Year 2013 and booked the package plus an extra night. The rooms were excellent and very comfy and spacious with lovely bright bathrooms. The staff were all very helpful when booking, with dietary preference and giving loval information.

The breakfasts were excellent and one of the few hotels where the porage has been served piping hot ; the bistro choice of food was limited however.
The New Year meal was excellent as was the service but the band played what they liked rather than to the audience and was so loud it could not really be heard - the disco was better.

We would definitely return - in fact a member of the family is going on our recommendation.

Stayed over for a long weekend for our Wedding Anniversary . We had not told any of the staff it was our Anniversary however on the way to the table at dinner the waitress asked my wife if it was a special occasion, to which my wife replied 32nd Wedding Anniversary . Thought nothing more of this until desert came and piped in chocolate on the plate was a message " Happy Anniversary", a small gesture but well received.
Head waiter was a very pleasant young guy as was the waitress , a local girl with a degree but happily being a very sociable and very pleasant waitress.
Overall staff were very pleasant and helpful and genuinely wishing to engage in conversation .
Restaurant menu and meals were excellent , good wine selection , possibly a little pricey at approx £28 + for a reasonable red .
Had a Cream tea on the Sunday afternoon and scones were so light and tasty £15 for two .
Log fires in many of the sitting rooms were very welcoming when it was below zero outside .
Overall dinner bed and breakfast rates were excellent value.
Surroundings were even more picturesque due to deep snow .
Lord Gisborough lives in the grounds and pops in for breakfast on occasions although his dog was more sociable .
Lacks a pool or gym . A spa is available for messages etc if you are into that sort of thing . A couples message with glasses of bubbly was £99.
Only fault I can make is that at 3am some of the staff must have been using the adjoining room and were not quiet either going to bed at 3am or rising at 7.30 am !
Despite this small criticism we would recommend this place to anyone wanting a weekend away .

Room Tip: All of the Woodlands rooms are remote from the reception and quite a hike . A room nearer the confer...

This was my fourth stay and the standard of service, mouthwatering food and accommodation have been excellent on all visits. We chose this as a venue for a small family party to celebrate my Dd's 70th birthday. We all enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. The highlights for me are the food, the real fires, and the feeling that you are in a stately home. I have stayed in the newer wing and the feature bedrooms which are lovely.

Comortable bed in a spacious room with a nice mezzanine floor. Check-in without problems. Staff courteous and efficient. The actual building and grounds are beautiful and the surrounding area is lovely. First class breakfast. Nice selection of drinks in-room.

We have stayed here many times always at this time of year, and as ever it was excellent from check in to check out. The welcome was warm, friendly and professional, our room in the main house was full of character, spotlessly clean, well equipped with bottled water and biscuits, also many different types of tea, with loose tea and cafetiere coffee available on the tea tray as well. The hotel was lovely and warm, with the log fires in the lounge and entrance adding a homely atmosphere. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable, my husband liking the cucumber with his gin and tonic. Our dinner order was taken in the lounge and we were shown to our table when the food was ready. Dinner was superb, of extremely high standard. Breakfast was relaxed, although busy, we weren't rushed. The food is cooked to order and so fresh, the porridge (made with water or cream or milk) was served with a little pot of honey and a dish of nuts and another of fruit. All staff we encountered were polite and obviously well trained and proud of their hotel, and many have been there for several years which says something. So all in all, please visit if you can you won't be disappointed, and all being well we'll be back! Thank you. Missed Rory!
