Having stayed here numerous times with work I can say this hotel is lovely. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. My particular favourite part of the room is the power shower though approach with caution as if you have it set on the most powerful setting it can leave your back and chest very red - pain and pleasure!!
Dinner, although not cheap, is beautiful. Lovely menu extremely well made and wonderfully presented. When the food arrives is does look like you might not have enough to eat but a three course meal more than satisfies.
Breakfast is lovely, all of the expected cereal, bread, fruit and meat choices with a fantastic choice of cooked breakfast items. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a work venue but also it is a lovely place to stay as a couple if a little more expensive than other hotels in the area.
I have been very impressed by the staff, they are helpful and friendly.
Definitely give it a go! The local area is wonderful for those who love to walk or mountain bike ride.

Room Tip: The new block is modern and beautiful but there are a limited number of old rooms from the original...

Dear Rachel S
Thank you for your very kind review of Gisborough Hall. I am delighted that you continue to stay with us, our breakfasts are lovely, and they are the Macdonald Hotels standard and have won industry awards. The dinner menu is locally sourced where possible, seasonal and has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes.
Most important to the success of the hotel is our staff. Predominately local and trained in-house, they are a pleasure to work with.
I do hope that you will continue to stay with us for years to come, thank you.
Kind regards
Kim Yardley

The hotel was very clean, service good and the food was extremely good. In fact the standard of the food was surprisingly good for a hotel. I felt the tarrif of the hotel was expensive but the evening meal, if paid for at the time of booking is £25 per head instead of £35 and is excellent value. The breakfast too was delicious and made to order. The bar did not serve Guinness and had run out of Newcastle Brown ale which disappointed some of the men in our party. Our room was very cold on arrival, despite it being a very cold day there was no heating on and a window had been left open. As our room was in the loft space this meant it was rather chilly. We were however able to turn the heating on and there was a supplementary radiator available. The bed had blankets rather than a duvet.
I would however still recommend this hotel as the food and service were top class.

We have recently changed our suppliers, Guinness is now available!!

Stayed here for 3 nights midweek and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Building is delightful, beautifully restored and decorated and full of character. We had a room in the main building, well worth the extra as each room is different.
Very good food at breakfast and especially dinner.
Service excellent, very traditional but relaxed.
Highly recommended (but note no pool).

Room Tip: Individual rooms in main house.

Lovely location, good food and wine. The building is a wonderful backdrop for your stay in this part of the world. Recommend to stay in the old part of the hotel as it really mates it an occasion and has a genuinely an excellent feel of an Edwardian country house.

Fantastic stay. There was a 5 minute queue at check in but the lady was helpful and courteous. The 4 poster room was absolutely superb. It was clean, spacious and exactly as described on the website. The Maitre De was helpful and polite as was the lady who served the cream tea. Dinner was superb on both nights that we dined at the hotel. My honest advice to Macdonald Hotels would be to close down their Bath Spa Hotel for a week and transport all of the lousy, snooty, inefficient staff there up to Gisborough Hall and let them see what proper service looks like. We had a perfect relaxing break and will most definitely return. Would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: The rooms in the original house are worth paying extra for.

Arrived here after a long drive, turning away from two other places (which were ghastly) to find this beautiful and imposing house surrounded by lovely gardens. Bonus was that they accepted our dogs, and at short notice. The room was large and comfortable - in the additional wing. Evening meal absolutely delicious with attentive but not over-bearing staff and served in an elegant dining room. Breakfast consisted of a huge choice of pastries, fruits, drinks and choice of cooked food.
Not a cheap option but you get what you pay for, apart from the bar which we thought was a little over the top. All in all a very good hotel.
