We hadn't been to Shurovi's for a while and were disappointed with the service. We found the waiters deliberately avoided eye contact so it was difficult to order drinks. We waited almost an hour for our main course to arrive after our poppadums. Speaking of which, we ordered 8 but were brought 6. We weren't offered hand refreshers at the end of the meal as we usually are. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. Come on, Shurovi's, don't let your standards slip! We will be back but expect better service.

3 of us went in on a busy Saturday night. Food was good - tasty, well spiced, though rice portions could have been a bit more generous.

Service was okay. We didn't expect immediate attention as it was full. The waiter's were competent and effective.

Cost was about average - about £17 a head for poppadum & pickles, curry, rice and nan & a Cobra.

Would go back.

i have to say we have not been for a while. been on hols and other reasons, we will be going ,have not been dissapointed with the food, saying that the service has been slow sometimes due to the demand for take-away. dont let it put you off give it a go.

Went in for a midweek dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and expansive menu. We were seated by the very friendly staff who got us a couple of nice pints of lager and some poppadoms and dips and gave us some time to go through the menu.
We picked some Chicken Chaat and some veg samosa for starters and some tandoori king prawns and Ceylon King prawns with some naan and rice.
The starters came quickly and the staff were very attentive without being over the top. The mains came and all the food was brilliant. After the mains were cleared for some reason the staff just vanished. We waited more than 30 minutes before we were offered anything else which only happened after we both waved the man to travel the 10 feet from the bar. He gave us the ice cream menu after some prompting but then never came back.
Once we coaxed the man to approach again, some 10 minutes later he then told us a lot were unavailable but we managed to muddle an order in. The portions that arrived quite a while later were pitiful, considering the price of the Movenpick brand and the quality was pretty dire and had obviously been defrosted and refrozen.
We again started the ritual of trying to get the waiter to come back which he seemed very reluctant to do and eventually got it sorted out.
By the time we paid it was an hour since our mains had been cleared but I had to leave a tip.
Both my wife and I spent the evening in hysterics trying to get our waiter to come to the table, even including many occasions when we both made smiley eye contact with him from a distance of 10 feet as he stood doing nothing and he would stare back then break into a huge grin. Then walk off! Ciao. I should point out, there was 3 waiters and 3 tables.
Also amusing the time, the waiter hid behind the bar! LMFAO!

I've been to this restaurant many times since it opened. It serves a good selection of dishes. I've never been disappointed. Its a modern pleasant looking place, very clean. The prices are reasonable and they do take away meals as well. There are plenty of tables so you could have a large party if you wanted. There is a council car park just behind and its free after 6 pm. I live locally and have only heard good things. Worth a visit if your in the area.
