We took quiet a large party for Sunday lunch and although the waiting staff were very nice the food did not meet our expectations.

We live quite local within the stokesley area and visit the jet miners when we fancy a treat. It's such a friendly cosy place, cannot fault the staff at all or the food or the prices. Had Sunday lunch recently with my husband and daughters, we felt we had a great choice of vegetables and the meat was delicious...with a choice of well done beef joint or a rare joint for the braver customer there was of course other roasts to choose from too.All in all we always enjoy our trip & food here and would go as far to say the best Sunday carvery within the area and beyond.

I find it quite bizarre that the review dated 2 Nov 2012 was for a visit 8 months earlier!! Mothers day is notoriously a very busy day for restaurants. As I was in that day I cannot understand why it was classed as not overly busy!! I would call this review as most unhelpful!!

Would definitely recommend the carvery option, six of us ate here for Sunday lunch and all agreed it was the tastiest roast we have experienced from the pubs in the Stokesly/Great Broughton area. The desserts were also delicious, with a personal touch. The chef was very pleasant and helpful, as were all the waiting staff. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely return.

my wife and i would go for sunday lunch and just sit in the bar where most weeks there was only us in with a couple of local chaps drinking at the bar. we went in on mothers day not overly busy and the bar was just the same as other weeks. we ordered drinks and asked for our usual order of one beef one lamb we were asked to look at the menu we said we did not want to we would just have what we ordered. we were told the prices were different with it been mothers day. i asked if the sunday dinner was different than other sundays the reply been no so why double the price we drank our drink and have not been back. that one greedy decision has cost them a regular customer

Dear Sir
Thank you for you review of The Jet Miners Inn. I would like to take this opportunity to respond to some of the statements you have made regarding your Sunday lunch in March 2012.

As we were fully booked for Mothers day we catered for 160 guests("not overly busy" as you have mentioned) who all ordered from a SET 3 COURSE MENU priced at £ 18.95 per person. The selection of main courses we had on offer for that specific day was Roast Beef, Belly Pork, Chicken, Black Bream and a vegetarian option, and not Lamb as you have mentioned.

Since it was Mothers Day we did not serve the food from the carvery in the usual manner but provided table service which meant more serving staff had to be hired for that day and to give a better overall service to all our guests.

Thank you for your understanding.
Johan
