“Weekend at The Quay hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2012

Went to the The Quay hotel for the weekend as they were holding a Elvis themed night on Saturday 25th February, we arrived on the Friday and played golf on the Saturday before the Elvis night. From arriving on the Friday afternoon till we left the hotel on Sunday everything was fantatsic nothing was too much trouble, all the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent including the three course meal on the Saturday night along with the entertainment top class.

The rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated and large, looking forward to going back later in the year for another weekend and themed night, thank you to everyone involved with the hotel, only downturn of the weekend was it went to quick and we had to leave, I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone, also look out for there themed nights the acts are excellent but book early as they do get sold out very quickly, well done to the Quay hotel, the manager and his staff for making our weekend such a happy one

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor, but looking at how nice our room I think you will be happy with every...

We booked 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, and added on two treatments. Rooms are spacious and quiet, although a little 'corporate' in style. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the marina - that also meant we were looking out directly on to parked cars. So worth trying to get a first floor room, if available.

Our spa treatments were excellent and the spa facilities are of a high standard.

The food was good but over-priced - this isn't an issue if you're on an inclusive rate - but most starters were around £9, mains around £20 and desserts £7 - and for that price I'd expect excellence. The staff in the restaurant tried hard but were very inexperienced - not a big issue but for the price they're charging I'd expect a top class experience.

A lovely location with a waterside path that leads directly to Conwy in just over half an hour.

Room Tip: Ask for the first floor.

Thank you for your kind comments in respect of your recent 2 night break with us at the Quay Hotel and Spa. Delighted to read how much you enjoyed your spa treatments and appreciated our stunning location. I very much welcome the constructive feedback regarding your dining experience and have discussed your points with my Restaurant Manager.

I look forward to seeing you again and do try a first floor room, or estuary view, for an even more spectacular impression of our surroundings.

Stayed for 2 nights in Deganwy Quay. The room was spacious, with a great view over the estuary. The restaurant was the real star of the show though - wonderful food, served by helpful staff (the french waiter's recommendations were unerring) for reasonable prices.

I'd thoroughly recommend it. I have only one (tiny) quibble, and that is to question whose idea it was to place the powerful extraction fans from the kitchens which blow the greasy air out right next to the main entrance? It smells like you are walking into a fish and chip shop! A tiny point, and the only thing I could fault about my stay.

We stayed at the Quay Hotel for two nights. Our first impressions were what a stunning place to be. Upon arrival , we were greeted by very friendly reception staff. We had booked into a normal room, but were upgraded to an executive suite!! The room was wonderful, very clean, spacious, comfy and had an amazing view of the castle and estuary. Food in the bar and in the restaurant was excellent, and the service was brilliant. The variety on offer at breakfast was very extensive. The facilities at the hotel is fantastic. We would definitely return and would recommend it.

we booked an overnight stay at the Quay and Spa last minute, as a treat, during Feb half-term. We booked a luxury suite, which was lovely, over looking conway castle. The welcome at reception was lovely and professional. After a swim, sauna and steam room it was relaxing to be in our towelling robes which were provided!! We enjoyed a fantastic evening meal in the restaurant, with excellent personal service. Would definitly visit again, next time, perhaps, with a spa treatment for that extra bit of pampering!!

Room Tip: pay a little bit more for a luxury suite

To celebrate my 40th birthday, 6 of us stayed at the hotel and my girlfriend booked ourselves into the Penthouse as a treat. The Penthouse is fantastic, with great views and such a lovely place to be. We were on a Dinner & Breakfast rate which is such good value considering the food / service we were given. The food was fantastic and even my parents tried something different from the normal soup and fish and chips they normally go for. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic and had a great time. The staff could not of been more helpful, full of smiles and alway wanting to help. Nothing was never too much trouble and it has left a fab impression of North Wales hospitality to my parents and brother/wife who are from Kent. I am sure everyone will return to this gem of a hotel, including ourselves, who do not need any invitation. Thank you so much for looking after me on my special birthday weekend !!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are of a great standard, but if you can push the boat out, the penthouses are amazing...
