“wonderful food and wonderful hot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2010

We have been to Paysanne too many times now to count. Every timewe visit North Wales e book in advance to make sure we get a table. The food is excellent and we have tried everything that have to offer from fish, seafood, duck, guinea fowl, chicken and pork and have never been dissapointed. This place is incredibly good value and I know that similar food in the area I live would be twice the price. I love its quirkiness (its like eating in someones front room). Its always packed out and has a buzzing atmosphere. I would be gutted if we could not get a table on one of our many visits to wales.

“Excellent meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2010

A gem hidden the small town of Deganwy, this is a wonderful family owned and run country style French restaurant. The food was excellent food, the atmosphere relaxed and informal.
The service was discrete and very efficient. We had a table for 4 and ordered from the fixed price menu, £24 for three courses. Tasty garlic bread was promptly served as an appetiser and our drinks order was taken and arrived within 5 minutes.
The Conwy mussels were the best I’ve eaten, they were plump and creamy and everyone single one of them was open. I’m assured the snails and potted shrimp were also a good.
We had the pork, duck and guinea fowl for mains, all served with a generous helping of crispy roast, beans, carrots and cabbage.
A wonderful selection of puddings on the board, crème brulee and the cup of cold ovaltine with crushed malteasers not to be missed!
The choice of reasonably priced (French only) wines could easily grace a top London restaurant.
The restaurant was very busy all evening but everyone was looked after exceptionally well by Cai and his waiting staff. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough and look forward to a return visit very soon.
Book beforehand to avaiod disappointment.

“Utterly charming & authentic french food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2010

Up there in my top three places in north wales - and possibly one of the best 'french' bistros this side of the Channel. Set 3-course menu for £24 is a fantastic bargain and encourages you to eat more than you should (I couldn't resist). Menu is strong on locally caught fish and sea food --yum!
it feels like you're dining in someone's front room, very intimate - i went there on a blind date...man long since forgotten about, but I've got great memories of this place and its food. Enjoy!
