Description: Set in the quiet estate surroundings with mountain views, our relaxed Hayloft Restaurant combines the very best of our estate grown foods and local produce to bring you a 'taste of Wales' right from our very own doorstep. The restaurant itself is a beautifully converted hay barn, with a rustic yet modern appeal and a menu designed to showcase the fantastic Welsh larder available. During seasons we have some rare and exciting meats on the menu that have been sourced from local farms, these dishes are lovingly designed to showcase the amazing local produce available. At Bodnant we pride ourself on the freshness and quality of our seasonal Menu. The bread is freshly baked in the Bodnant bakery, the fish and shellfish is locally sourced with passion wherever possible and prepared by our fantastic Chef, the meat on offer is from our butchery and our ice creams and cheeses for our puddings and cheese board are produced in our dairy. If you have any question about any of the food or farms that we have used the team would be happy to talk to you about our high quality produce we have on the menu for you.

Really good early bird lunch/ dinner! Good menu choice although not enough training for waiting staff. Great selection from menu and nice to have real fresh vegetables! Highly recommended

The coffee was awful - black Americano and a cappuccino - just luke warm and an awful taste. Did not try any of the food but it did look very appetizing and all was being freshley prepared.

We booked a table at The Hayloft restaurant for Sunday lunch. We had planned to have a drink in the bar first but as we arrived a wedding party also arrived and took over the bar area. A manager (?) noticed our dilemma and was very helpful and guided us straight to our table in the restaurant instead.
We opted for the roast beef option with Yorkshire puddings, vegetables and roast potatoes. The meat was at the best lukewarm and the Yorkshire pudding I found inedible and passed it to my husband. I did comment about the food to the staff and they were excellent. They took it on board and immediately offered us a free dessert. They also gave us complimentary coffee. When reading the dessert menu I found it rather dull and unimaginative. There were no hot desserts. My husband opted for a boudoir biscuit dessert which consisted of a few boudoir biscuits on a plate soaked in a sweet liquid. It could only have taken the chef seconds to put that together and it certainly was not tasty. I opted for a cheese platter since you cannot really go wrong with that. So the food was very disappointing but the staff was really excellent in handling our problems. And that is the only reason for us to be returning to the hayloft for one more try but the chef really needs to put more effort into the food.

I really like the fact that there is an early bird menu, 3 courses at 15£ is a bargain. The service is very friendly, we requested apple sauce that was made from scratch. Although the meat (pork) was a overcooked and the fried curly kale a bit oily, we had a pleasant dinner experience.

Ate 2 nights dinners here as a couple.Same simple menu both nights.Soups with home made breads were very good indeed. My husband enjoyed his whitebait starter too.Mains were substantial.I had pork chop with black pudding one night and butter poached salmon on the second night. Both very good but a bit heavy with the black pudding.Cheese was excellent as were the home made ice creams.Wine was of good quality with prices approx 15 pounds up.Coffee also very good.Ambience in modern barn like room, very calm with plenty of space between tables.Waiting staff attentive but some times a little disorganised.Take your afters or coffee in the comfy bar area.Ask for a table by the window to catch magnificent views of Coney valley.
