“GOOD AUTUMN AND SPRING”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Visited for the first time in Autumn a week ago. Well worth it - Autumn colours were very good. Had "TravelFan" (below) checked the website; (s)he would have realised the revised times in the Autumn / Winter season. Anyone who regularly visits NT properties is aware of the often inexplicable opening hours. That said, it's a pity it doesn't open at ten: I would have thought there were sufficient visitors to justify it.

Have often visited in Spring and it's good then.

“Interesting in a wheelchair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The gardens even in October were interesting, the trees magnificent, the N.T. have worked hard to save some of the big specimens. Most of the paths were well graded for users of wheelchairs but occasionally there were steep bits that were marginal for non experienced pushers.

“Doesn't open til 11am!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were really looking forward to visiting here and so arrived at 10.20 only to discover that in Winter months it doesn't open until 11!

Seems crazy as the tea shop and gift shops were open.

We were not the only dissapointed visitors and witnessed along with ourselves half a dozen people turn round!

“Still good in the rain”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

Called here on the way from Betws Y Coed.It was raining so we sheltered in the cafe while we waited for a break in the bad weather..didn't happen,so we had a Tea and Latte then went out in the bad weather.Still enchanting, great colours and pleasant staff despite the weather.Cafe preparing for a kids Halloween party later in the day so the place looked authentically spooky..Well done you staff for getting into the spirit of Halloween by painting faces and dressing up ?

“A garden of style”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

Here tucked away in the side of the Conway Valley is a garden of great beauty with a running stream, waterfall, and some of the tallest red wood trees I have ever seen. We visited with a break in the weather and so saw some sunshine which added to the views. There is a garden centre, cafe, and some shops but it is the garden that is the attraction. Winding paths up and down the valley between and over the stream between the trees. I had not been since I was a kid at school but the trees are still enormous. As a national trust member of course I am biased but they do know how to present a property and garden.
