Aside from the butterfly glass house they sell plants, many are quite unusual and exotic. The plants are well maintained and we bought several. Seeing butterflies flitting about on fresh flowers and bits of fruit was a happy experience.

Good place to visit and relax - it is within the grounds of Hall Place and has free parking.

My wife, young son and I really enjoyed seeing the butterflies. We were amazed at the number of butterflies in a relatively small space, approx 300! The staff were friendly, and there is an excellent selection of flowering plants to encourage butterflies in your own garden. There is a owl exhibit next door, Hall Place house and garden, and riverside cafe, so lots of options to make a full day of it.

So many beautiful butterflies in an exotic setting.

You can also visit the gardens which are kept to a high standard and have afternoon tea.

So worth the visit.

This is such a beautiful attraction. It's cheap to get in (£4) and well worth it. It's lovely to be amongst the butterflies- they fly around the greenhouse space freely and occasionally land on you - and refuse to leave!
You can purchase a fact sheet for £1 too, which I would recommend as it has diagrams of the different butterflies and some facts about them.
There were large, beautiful butterflies I had never seen before (tropical varieties) and caterpillars too.
There is also a garden centre attached with butterfly-friendly plants for sale and also Butterfly Kits, which allow you to rear your own butterflies and release them into the garden.
The staff are very helpful and friendly- you can tell this is an attraction that they really care about.
It is a small attraction, so I would recommend combining it with a trip to the rest of Hall Place and maybe see Jambs Owls next door too. A lovely way to spend the day!

Tucked away seemingly in Hall Place Bexley is Butterfly Jungle. Small but perfectly formed. It is only £4 to get in and it's great there are so many different types of butterfly . The staff there are very friendly. Well worth a visit.
