This is a great place for families with young children. Lots of open space for them to run around in, or have a paddle in the river or feed the ducks. There are lovely flower gardens too, including a sensory garden where the plant names are written in braille and the flowers are noted for their scent. The topiary displays are well worth a visit. There are also hot-houses where tropical plants are kept and a small pond is home to a turtle and carp.
If you feel like visiting the grand house, there is a small charge, but the ticket lasts all year and members of National Trust can go in for half price. Various exhibitions held in the house.
Your time can be rounded off with a drink and snack from the cafe or you may feel like returning later for an excellent meal in the adjoining Steak House.
