“Walking on water!”

Whenever we visit West Kirby we always walk around the marine lake, walking very slowly it takes under an hour and is very pleasant. If you walk around it just after the tide as gone out, from the road it s difficult to see the path and I looks as though you are walking on water. Actually you are on a safe, even path, suitable for wheelchairs, between the lake and the sea! Don't visit WK without doing a circuit!

Had a smashing walk around the marine lake,on Saturday morning, with my family.
As it was a walm morning, the pathway was well used by families, couples, dog walkers and joggers.
We love this walkway-a very nice way to start the day!!

A great place to sail, walk along the sea wall and just enjoy the fresh sea air,Cycles aren't allowed on the wall around the lake but you can take your dog for a walk or a swim.Children can explore ,catch crabs etc.You probably need a licence to sail or wind surf but it is a vast lake so plenty of space. Then get an ice cream or a drink at a cafe nearby.Lovely.

Every visitor to West Kirby should try to walk around the marine lake. The walk is just over a mile and can be enjoyed at all times of the year.I particularly love walking there on a summer evening when the air is cool and fresh and often an amazing sunset.is an added bonus.Don't forget the camera!

We live in nearby Heswall and never get tired of walking around the lake. It is best on a lovely evening and jut the right distance for a stroll but can be enjoyed at any time even when the nearby beach is crowded. There is nearly always something to see - struggling windsurfers, children under instruction and even international competitions. The walk is totally flat and so suitable for less able walkers, pushchairs or wheelchairs. Being located right by the town means that there are plenty of places to eat and shop, not to mention the beach and a lovely walk towards Hoylake so the walk can stand alone or part of a day out. We have lived in the area for 24 years and never get tired of it
