“A very welcome find..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2014

We were visiting the area and found this nice family pub on our way home. Lovely meals, very friendly and nice touches such as homemade butter with home baked bread. Shame we don't live nearby would have liked to try the Tapas menu..looked very tempting. They sell their own ice cream too but our journey was too long to take some to try.

“A welcome treat following our walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

We are a small group of friends who meet up once a month for a walk. This month the walk started and finished at The Kings Head. We ordered our food prior to setting off and called rang when we were about 10 minutes from finishing the walk. Our table and food were ready when we arrived. There were eight in the group and our meals were superb. We all ordered homemade ice cream as dessert. We were like a group of kids in a sweetie shop! Thanks to the staff - we will be back!

“Lovely Find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014

First visit to the Kings head, what a lovely pub, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, and the food not too shabby!!! We had Sunday lunch, lots of choice meat/veg, very reasonably priced. We will be back.

“First class food and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

Not what I expected. A truly outstanding find in a tiny village location.
The specials board is packed with locally-sourced food and it's prepared by a first-class chef.
Very, very good and surprising as it just looks like a local village pub from the outside.

“A hidden Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

We were driving to the coast and fancied stopping off somewhere for lunch halfway. We came across this pub on trip advisor and were drawn by the good reviews. Thank god for tripadvisor as its really off the beaten track and we would never have visited otherwise.
The pub was empty when we arrived shortly after midday. We were given a lunctime menu to peruse, however there is also a selection of tapas available on a blackboard.
We both opted for the steak and blackpeper mayonnaise sandwich on a homemade roll, served with homemade chips and coleslaw. The service was very quick and the portions were huge, I struggled to finish mine. The quality of the steak was excellent and the chips were divine. My finance finished with a desert which also looked good.
Overall we were really pleased with both the quality and service and it will be definately be a pit stop for future trips to the coast.
