“Excellent discovery in Hull”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Really pleasant discovery on a trip to Hull. Hallmark is much better than other hotels in area used previously and was very good value for money. Staff very friendly, clean, well furnished, food good (only had breakfast but menu for dinner was attractive)

Stayed October 2012, traveled with family

A group of us went for sunday lunch at the hallmark in the brasserie restaurant. First, the views of the humber bridge were lovely even if the weather wasn't! The food was delicious, and a special thank you to the staff - Becky, Molly and Olivia, who were all very friendly and gave excellent service! Would definitely recommend Hallmark and will certainly be returning!

Stayed 1 night Friday 19/10/12. Attended wedding during the day in the hotel. Facilities were lovely.Room was modern and clean. Staff all very helpful. The bar staff Calum, Freddy & Dan all work extremely hard to ensure we weren't waiting long to be served. The food both during the day and the evening buffet was delicious. Would definitely consider booking a function here in the future.

Stayed here for 1 night on business. Check in was quick but I wasn't offered any details about the hotel, how to access Wi Fi etc.... The room was really nice, but wasn't particularly clean. The cover on the bed had stains on it, the carpet hadn't been hoovered properly and the door frame hadn't been cleaned in a while. The hotel directory was poor with hardly any info in it. The bar area was nice but the barman kept disappearing. He also didn't know how to poor a Guinness, what happened to the settle!! The restaurant was ok with standard fair. Breakfast was good although once they crossed you off the list you were left to fend for yourself with no-one explaining that its self service and what was available. They couldn't use the excuse that it was busy. The place felt half empty.
The building rooms etc... are really well done and so this could be a great hotel if they only paid a bit more attention to the detail!!

We had a room looking out over the Humber and the Bridge. The room was on the small and slightly dark side but had been well furnished and felt cosy rather than cramped. The bathroom was well kitted out and had nice toiletries.

There seemed to be an offer on for breakfast whilst we were there, if you booked in via reception it was only £7, so we decided to give it a try. There was a very good selection of hot and cold foods and regular top ups of tea/coffee.

This hotel seems to specialise in weddings at a weekend, but we were far enough away that the noise did not disturb us.

We were visiting friends so did not dine there.

An example of the good service was when we arrived back at the hotel at about 12:30 at night. We had decided we would like an alarm call for the morning as the TV did not have this facility. We were quickly spotted at reception and the call booked for the morning and a note made to check the automatic call had worked. The automatic call did not work but they did phone to check.

Room Tip: As this is a busy hotel with weddings and functions at the weekend ask for a quiet room overlooking...

Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and although the Humber view rooms are very popular we have larger executive rooms situated to the front of the property which are just as quiet. Hopefully we will see you again soon.

The hotel is fine, well positioned, nice staff, plenty of parking comfortable rooms with good tv. NB there is no sleep timer button on the TV remote. My problem was the gym, I book a hotel specifically on the basis it has a gym, what you get here is complimentary membership of 'total fitness'. This is a very real, large (I mean massive) gym with everything you could want, only problem it is 5 miles up the road, worse than that there are currently some major roadworks on that road which you have to convoy through. So pain in the backside, ended up in the morning leaving hotel in gym kit working out gettting showered there and dressed then continuing on my way missing breakfast.

So if the gym is important to you you need to have time.

Thank you for your review, I am glad to read you enjoyed our hotel and service, unfortunately we do not have an on site gym facility however I am sure you will agreed the complimentary Total Fitness leisure facilities are excellent and far superior to most hotel offerings.

the staff in made us feel very welcome, with everyone smiling and nothing was too much for them. Meals are a bit priced. Though we did enjoy the steak, perfectly cooked. The veiw of Humber bridge and the gardens were lovely. Would be a lovely place for a wedding or any party. Thankyou for a lovely weekend. The only fault was the fact I could hear the doors banging from other rooms a lot, and next door bathroom sounds very near.

Room Tip: top floor will be best, less noise i think
