Immaculate hotel and a very warm welcome ...but afternoon tea was supposed to be 3pm-5pm (see website) but when we arrived at 4.30pm it wasn't available.
The Receptionist did bring us some coffee though .
Our room was lovely with great views over the lawns and a large, spacious luxury bathroom. The bathroom was lacking in complimentary toiletries which was a shame and seemed a bit of a short cut. Previous visitors had commented in August so I was surprised a hotel of this calibre and status had not acted even though they had promised to. Also, I agree with other comments, the wifi is very frustrating, slow and keeps dropping out.
Pre-dinner drinks in a remote hotel were rather pricey - £7.50 for a G&T!!
The menu was very simple and not a huge selection, I chose the scallops which were over cooked (easily done) and the salmon which was delicious. Wine was lovely and reasonably priced.
Breakfast was superb! Do not skip on the bacon!!!
The ambience of the hotel was lovely and the couple who own it were very friendly and welcoming but I think they could do with a holiday themselves!More
