We stayed in the log cabin, although very close in vicinity to the b&b, we had Stuarts assurance that we would have privacy throughout our stay . And true to his word we enjoyed our time in the newly installed hot tub on the veranda , with the most spectacular view of the stars on a clear night , and a beautiful silhouette of the trees against the private pond at sundown . Waking up to the bird song was a perfect contrast to a shrill alarm clock . An ideal 'get away from it all' location . But close enough to visit near by towns . A truly wonderful weekend!

As a returning group of very fussy Rally fans we came back to Stuart and Joannes for the 3rd time and again North Lodge provided a great place to rest a tired head. We stayed for 2 nights again and as last year Stuart stoked up the hot tub and it was beautifully warm exactly when we wanted it. If you have a choice the cabin is place to be but alll rooms are well equipped and the Scottish Breakfast is great. I think worldtraveller092 must have stayed somewhere else!!!!!

Room Tip: Cabin is the best and a real hideaway but all rooms good.

Luckily we only stayed here for one night as was the worst B&B out of 10 we used on a touring trip to Scotland & England.
The room was cold with no heat at all. The windowsill was filthy & mold in the corner plus dead flies.
Tea & coffee was in the hallway to be shared with all rooms. Very frugal & no spoons!!
Breakfast left a lot to be desired.
The only thing going here was that they had lots of parking but was miles out from anywhere.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

Thank you to Stuart and Joanne for a great weeks stay in the Cabin and bed and breakfast. Perfect hosts. A great location for peace and tranquility and easy access to some superb scenery and sights to explore. Nothing being too much trouble. Thanks for a first class breakfast yesterday Stuart with eggs as fresh as they come.
People who expend this much effort on the comfort and well being of their guests deserve to do well. Highly recommended.

Found this gem of a B&B for an overnight stop on the way to Stranraer to catch a ferry to Northern Ireland and we are so glad we did. Arrived a little tried after a long drive from Gloucestershire to a very warm welcome and pot of tea in the gazebo overlooking the pond. A short drive from Gretna Green, in a quite spot away from the more touristy area. Lovely room. Great spot for wildlife/birds around the tranquil pond area. Wonderfully hospitable owners Stuart and Joanne made it feel like we were staying with friends. Self-catering cabin in the grounds looks amazing too for a relaxing getaway. Perfectly cooked breakfast, include eggs from the free-range chickens pottering around the garden. Shame we couldn't stay longer.

Having had such a fantastic experience here on a previous visit I booked to stay again for the recent bank holiday weekend. I had promised a return trip after my first experience and I was certainly not disappointed.

Again we were greeted on arrival and the hosts Stuart and Joanne were very friendly. They delighted in advising of local attractions and events which may be of interest. My only issue with my stay was that again it was not long enough to fully enjoy the local area and check out all the fine walks and scenery this beautiful area has to offer.

We stayed in the cabin which is self contained, cozy and has a beautiful view of a lake from the patio. The cabin has everything you could desire and though we had cooking facilities, an excellent shower, TV and DVD player. Again the bed was so comfy I didn't want to move in the morning and the breakfast was an absolute delight and in plentiful supply.

I truly recommend this accommodation. The rooms are fantastic, the location superb and the hosts are fantastic and I promise they will really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. The cabin is a true gem with fantastic views, abundant wildlife to watch from the patio and the chickens who visit daily are entertaining in themselves.

Two visits and I am already excited in anticipation of a third. Keep up the great work and I cant wait to sample your hospitality again.

The group of 4 of us booked North Lodge once again and Stuart has managed to improve what was already a fantastic B&B. We booked both the double room and twin room in the house and cabin and as usual Stuart is the perfect host. When we arrived I'd already arranged the hot tub which Stuart had been feeding all day so the it was lovely and warm despite it being only 2 degrees outside!!! The icing on the cake of a perfect B&B. The Marchbank more than met Stuarts recommendations for a beautiful dinner. The breakfast which Stuart laid on was also superb. As per everyone's comments this is truly 5* and we hope to be back for our third year in a row next year.
