it is clear from your reviews of all the crook food venues you are not a fan of any of them except your own maybe?

we work hard here to delight our guests time and time again, we serve hundreds of meals every week and to returning guests who if we served rubbish food would not return

you seem to enjoy your food abroad so we suggest you go where you enjoy it sir!!!

kind regards

“Delicious Treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

October 15th 2012 Me and my wife had gone to the colliery for our anniversary and I must state that the overall quality of the food and the great hospitality of our young waitress was bar none a delight. We both ordered from the menu and each had the lasagne, needless to say it was the best tasting dish I have ever had the pleasure of eating, great value for money and we also had a cheesecake which I presume were home made as it was outstanding. Will definitely be back to try the specials next time.

Hospitality very good; food good but decor lacking and uninspiring and looked a bit tired and run down

“took over a hour for out food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

was staying with family for a weekend so in total we were a party of 7 we had booked for 8pm order at 8.15 and was served our food a hour later.

last time i was here was 4 years ago and was not a fault to be had, sorry to say it's not a place i would rush back to with the new owners there.

after about 45 mins the waitress offered us a round of drinks on the house, problem was that my brother had booked 2 hours off call and was due back on call at 10 so when food was served it was rushed.

We are sorry to hear your thought on our venue all be it a fortnight after you joined us, we are very concerned when some one dos not enjoy their dinning experience with us as you can see from all the reviews we have and the 600 people a week we serve we try our best, it state quite clearly in the front of the menu you ordered from that ALL our food is cooked fresh to order, and in busy time a wait is to be expected and the night you came to us you saw we where full and very busy at that time, we are sorry your meal took 45 mins to get to you and where offered a complimentary round of drinks but the kitchen team did over 100 meals that night and ALL where fed with quality food freshly cooked, as you make no reference to the food here and or indeed on the night we can assume you enjoyed the food when served.

If you had made us aware of the urgency of your family member being on call as people do here we expedite those meals with great haste.....

I just wish you had said something to me on the night or asked for me the owner and i would of spoken to you personally

we leave it to fellow readers on here to see this a it is a short wait on a very busy night for a large family party but the food was great when you had it as shown with all the other excellent reviews
Regards
Christian

“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

This place was recommended to us by the owners of our B & B. They serve a really good choice of meals at 2 for £10 (early evening). I had lasagne which was very good & my husband had mince & onion with dumplings which was also very tasty. These were served with great home made chips & salad/veg. The portions are BIG & our only regret was that being really hungry we ordered a starter & then couldn't manage to finish the main course! Oh & the surroundings were nice too! Only slight problem was that no-one came to take our order so in the end we ordered at the bar, like we saw someone else do, so not a big problem.

Many thanks for your 5 star rating, we really are pleased you enjoyed our food and our service, we take the point that our signs are not big enough for all to see, that food orders are taken at the bar so will work on that but thanks for the review!!!
