Despite the rain we decided to visit The White Horse at Disley for lunch; it has a car park at the rear. They have an extensive menu but for our first visit we decided to choose from the Chef's Set Menu - 3 courses for £10. I chose dovetail of melon and my husband vegetable soup; we both picked slow cooked spring lamb casserole with soda bread and new potatoes for the main course. For sweet I had the fruit crumble and ice cream, my husband the same but with custard. The food was served attractively and hot where applicable and the main course was seasoned just right with a hint of chilli.
It was very quiet but nevertheless comfortable and the attractive lady serving was attentive and prompt. On another visit we may try the main menu or a selection of tapas. All looked very tempting. The decor is warm and inviting.

Have been several times, the landlady is always helpful and friendly. On Valentines day the Tapas wasn't on the menu but as we had travelled 2 miles for it she persuaded the chef to do us some tapas. Great service, good food, a sure bet!

Steak and chips for two and a decent bottle of wine for £25.00 and it was a top quality steak well cooked with proper chips and fresh veg. Very good meal-paid twice as much for food that wasn't as nice as this in other places. Girl behind the bar friendly and efficient.
Wife drank all the wine so I had a couple of pints Robinson's bitter and it was very well kept.
Quite a find!

We had an Easter Sunday lunch two days ago. It was very busy, but well managed. Sometimes standards can slip at peak times at some places but the food and service here were really first class and the presentation was far beyond what we would have expected from a village pub. We heard that a new chef had recently taken the reins and everything was top notch. We ate from the special holiday menu of three courses for Ten Pounds and at other places I have paid three times as much for much poorer fare. The White Horse is definitely worth trying and the Robinson's beer is top notch.
