No-one could have imagined what a transformation let alone a two-week makeover could have made to this one-time established Italian restaurant that over-night seems to have filled it's tables with a refreshing New Italian family management yet retaining good old fashioned personal service, thus were my first impressions of Sasso having visited and dined their on their opening night on Saturday 1st. June.
Un-like most of the house wines one is attracted to because of the price being offered I had to say their house white was very pleasant so a second glass had to be ordered! I had their rump steak which I asked to be medium rare..Always a difficult one with such a prime thick cut piece but you know they really pulled it off and whilst the service was a little nervous (well wouldn't you be with your first covers of a new venue?) I had a really good experience! Marco and his team seem very dedicated and Tony who is clearly built for hospitality made me very welcome. The garden area is really as alfresco as one could ask for and with the patio heaters to hand I could almost feel I was in Italia! The menu is extensive and I do feel a little cruel by ordering a particularly difficult cut of meat to get right first time! Needless to say it was polished off and a clean plate tells a perfect ending to a good meal. P. B. Sasso! Open 7 days 5pm-10pm 7 Market Street Disley Cheshire
