I did not expect much from a service station hotel but we needed to stay one night and I prefer a smoking room, not very popular but ...

The staff are great, they were friendly, polite and efficient which is something of a surprise nowadays in the UK. There is a fridge full of drinks behind reception (there is no mini bar) and plenty of seating areas both quiet and large with a TV so meeting friends there was a real pleasure.

Room was pretty good - great value for money and quiet considering our location. All the usual 3 star stuff but no fridge which is a shame as there is an M & S next door so we could have arranged our supper snacks easily. The McDonalds is open 24/7 next door though so food is never a big problem.

I did not eat breakfast but the restaurant looked nice enough and it was cheap enough.

I would recommend to anyone (other than for a romantic weekend break)

A taxi to town centre was about £16 so not a great exploring base either. Free parking and inroom WiFi though..

Room Tip: They do a £10 upgrade which looks like a good deal. I wanted a smoking room which is rare at these p...

Found a 2 night special on laterooms.com for £25 per night.

Arrived to find a very friendly and efficient reception.

Clean. large room, great amenities including flat screen tv, tea coffee, toiletries etc.

The sofa bed in room 202 for my daughter was well worn and uncomfortable but I'm not going to complain for £25. Room was also very warm but air conditioning did help.

All in all a great alternative to the £100+ hotels in Cambridge.

It also helps that you can walk to costa, M & S simply food, McDonalds, KFC and WH Smiths within two minutes - As part of the service complex there is also a microwave for kids meals.

Additionaly there is also a HUGE Tesco complex 2 miles away and a very nice pub/restaurant 10 mins drive away called the George and Dragon in Elsworth.

The staff at reception were friendly and efficient. The room was cheaper than a similar room at Premier Inn.Accomodation in Cambridge can be expensive so we chose Days Inn at Boxworth to save money. We slept well as the room was quiet even though we could see the car park and services area from our window. The room was clean and the free wi -fi worked well.
We ate dinner and breakfast in the adjoining services area.
After we checked out, we drove to Longstanton nearby and caught a bus into Cambridge where we had a great time on a Scudamores punt which took us around the College Backs. After that, we explored Cambridge before catching a bus back to Longstanton car park.

Comfortable, peaceful and clean room; next door to useful services and a short drive from two very nice pub/restaurants in Elsworth. Handy for Papworth, Cambridge and Ely. Helpful and friendly staff too. Free wi-fi worked efficiently and it great being able to pop into M&S next door in order to pick up breakfast and lunch.

Just returned from a weekend away at this hotel just outside Cambridge (15min drive). Couldn't fault anything, from the smiling service we received at all times to the location, quality of furnishings and cleanliness! Plenty of choice for eating on site - usual burger king, macdonalds etc. We also visited, on recommendation from receptionist, the local pub/restaurant in Boxworth - the Golden Ball Inn. It wasn't cheap but it was one of the best meals I have had in a Pub in a long time - superb and a really beautiful setting in a small village. It was raining when we were there but the outside area looked lovely.

Would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a good value hotel near Cambridge.

Hotel, was too warm , especailly the bedrooms and lobby areas
Air conditioning was switched off i assume to save cash
Not too much wrong otherwise , except breakfast next door in the services area was very poor and very expensive - if felt like having breakfast on the A1 in the 70's just awful

When I arrived I didnt realise it was in a service station & I thought mmmm.
But reception was good (i upgraded the room for a £10 so £69 for the night, just in case) and reception have chilled beer 24-7. Room large, with fridge and air con, quiet plus free wifi. Its a short drive of about 15 mins from Cambridge centre in low traffic. I will consider Days Inns when looking at Premier Inns from now on overall a very good budget hotel WAY better than a travel lodge, I recomend it.
