“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed July 7, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Another fantastic weekend in Portsoy for the Boat Festival and again in this wonderful cottage. The standard of the cottage is excellent and Judith makes it so welcoming with adding the little touches of the shopping starter kit and toiletries. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

“Very Comfortable in Portsoy”
Reviewed July 3, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The cottage was one of several places we stayed on a tour of Scotland and was great.
Everything you need was there, very comfortable bed and sitting room and a well equipped kitchen.
The central heating was very effected - and was required for Australians staying in the not-quite-balmy weather we had in mid-June this year.
The wifi was excellent too.
Portsoy is a very quiet town, so be prepared to drive to explore the local area.

“Lovely base camp for a real Scottish experience”
Reviewed November 15, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This lovely old cottage in the north coast village of Portsoy is fully modernized inside with a luxurious bathroom and the most comfortable bed imaginable! We rented this cottage for two weeks and appreciated the cozy atmosphere with lovely personal touches of the proprietor, like the basket of tea and scones, butter, bread and jam to welcome us! Situated in the heart of Portsoy, a quaint working fishing village, it was a pleasant walk to the bakeries (2 delicious bakeries!), the fish and chip shop, local pubs, antique shops and the Co-op grocery, which sold locally sourced vegetables, fish and meat along with traditional Scottish oatcakes and whisky! We used the Auld Shop Cottage as a base camp for day trips to visit whisky distilleries, castles, ruins, standing stones, antique shopping and historical sites. We spent time walking the coast along pristine beaches and were fortunate to see dolphins jumping in Portsoy bay almost daily. We loved coming back to our cozy cottage every evening, sitting by the fire and reflecting on our adventure of the day. It felt like home. We recommend this to everyone who wants to have a true Scottish experience.

“Absolutely excellent”
Reviewed August 31, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay on the coast of the Moray Firth. The cottage is freshly refurbished throughout, well appointed, immaculately clean and well equipped. The small touches, including the welcome pack were thoughtful and appreciated. The kitchen is modern, stylish and has everything you need. This is an absolutely excellent holiday cottage

“Brilliant comfortable cottage”
Reviewed August 3, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have recently spent a delightful week in The Auld Shop Cottage. It is a delightful cottage in a lovely part of Portsoy with a view down to the sea. Immaculate pleasant decor throughout. A very thoughtful owner provides you with starter food pack and washing powder/ wash up liquid as well as linen and towels. Four of us were comfortably cosy for a memorable week's holiday and were truly sorry to leave at the end.

“Perfect cottage in north of Scotland”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed at the cottage over a weekend and found it to be immaculately clean and very well equipped. Our daughter is 20 months old and we were provided everything for our stay - highchair, stair=gate and cot.

Just wish we had a longer stay!
