Stayed for 2 nights in February 2014 in the Cottage Classic Room (11). The minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. The room was spacious with fabulous decor and facilities. Food was excellent. Many walks in this outstanding area, hotel central to all round-trip walks. A short walk, 3 mile round trip, to Janet's Floss and Gardale Scar, had fantastic waterfall views and was reasonably easily accessible.

Room Tip: I can imagine Room 11 being noisy in the summer as it opens out onto the bear garden.

Loved it. Peaceful, beautifully, warmly decorated (though it does need a new stair carpet). Perfect staff - kindly but not intrusive. Superb breakfast and very, very good, reasonably priced evening meal. Log fires, fabulous walks from the door. Brilliant place

Room Tip: We had a room over the front. Mid week that was fine, but as it was also over the bar, it might hav...

Had a lovely stay here Feb 2014. The staff are all very friendly. Our room was excellent, warm and very clean. We were made very welcome, including our dog (bowls of water in the bar). The food was lovely, so was the beer. Good atmosphere during the evening with well a tended log fire. Breakfast too was excellent, with a table laid for us in the bar, so our dog could be with us. Shame we had to leave but will be back.

Whilst staying in the area for a couple of days, a group of 5 of us popped in here mid morning for coffee and biscuits, to be met by friendly staff, a blazing fire and a cosy atmosphere. We enjoyed our brief visit so much that we went back the next day for lunch. At first glance, the sandwiches appeared rather expensive, but they were absolutely delicious. Bacon, brie and cranberry was absolutely delicious, with plenty of good quality bacon and served with a little pot of coleslaw and small salad. One of us had ham and picallilli and the ham was good thick cut decent ham. The soup was also delicious. ~Good beers as well. Would definitely recommend popping in here.

Just been for a weekend, the two of us and the all important hound. All of us were given a really warm welcome, which set the tone for our stay. Room was really nice (bathroom a bit small, but the room itself was spacious, with really nice muted blue/brown throws on the beds. We ate in the bar (with our dog), and enjoyed the food. On Saturday I had grilled mackerel, which was set on a bed of beetroot, and purple potatoes, really pretty, and very nice tasting. Superb.

The setting is really great, with the wonderful landscape of Malham just outside the door. The cold and the wet that accompanied our stay failed to dampen our enthusiasm for Malham, and the Lister Arms in particular. I hope we return soon

Stopped here after a walk around Malham Cove. Beautiful old pub with stone flagged floors, open fires and paintings of local scenes on the walls. Staff were very polite and helpful. THe beers were from Thwaites and local Keighley brewery Naylors, i had a dark beer called Nutty Black which was excellent. We ate prawn & crayfish sandwich and bacon & Brie sandwich with chunky chips which were both very nice.
Would definitely return.
