We stayed at the Hotel Euro Esqui from the 27th Jan for one week. When we arrived check in was quick and easy and our room was nice and just what we needed.
The location was ok for us, free bus to the gondola in El Tarter was easy to get and it took about 20 minutes to walk into Soldeu.

The hotel was really clean and the food was good. Breakfast was my favourite with lots to choose from - although i would have liked more fresh fruit but there was always something.
Evening meals were ok...we always found something tasty to eat.

The leisure facilities weren't that great. The swimming pool was fine and quiet during the day. The jacuzzi wasn't very warm though which was disappointing and the sauna and steam room only worked on one day.
The gym for me was really disappointing...as i runner, i was keen for the hotel that i booked to have a gyn with a running machine. This hotel did but the running machine was awful and i couldn't use it. The gym was also baking hot. But this did not affect the holiday at all because it meant that i ran outside up and down the mountainous roads which was fab for training!

I would go to this hotel again as the service was good, food was nice and it was very clean.

I didn't like the 3 1/2 hour transfer though!!

x

Overall I agree with most of the comments on here. For me the location was the hotel's biggest downside. The walk back from Soldeu (post pub) was fine as it's all downhill but the walk up is a good 20 mins & after a long day on the slopes...

Apart from that the food was OK. Breakfast was good. The sauna was closed when we arrived & they wanted us to wear a hat to sit in the jaccuzzi (that could have been a few degrees warmer)!

Andorra is great if you are a smoker as the new EU rules clearly don't apply. It's amazing how quickly you become accustomed to things & we found the hotel bar extremely smokey of an evening.

Shuttle bus is great - you never have to wait long. Rooms are above average, very clean & plenty of room with TV & aircon.

Read the reviews from last year and thought we would give it a try as we don't usually stay at the same place twice.
With respect, others that have said the food was great have obviously not stayed at the Sport Hotel in Soldeu. The food there far exceeded the Euro Esqui both in choice and, the fact that you could have food cooked in front of you, to your taste that was hot!! No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, which was a dissappointment to the children. Fortunately, we were able to buy a travel kettle. The rooms were well looked after and clean and the reception staff and all other staff were friendly and helpful, as was the First Choice Rep, Christian. The rooms and hotel in general probably are responsible for helping the hole along in the ozone layer. The heating system runs at high settings and to cool down, we had to ask for our heating to be turned off. Unfortunately, Andorra is still a total smoking zone, we had smokers in our corridor and in the public areas, which was awful. The Hotel bus will take you into Soldeu for 5 euros per person, returning only to collect you at midnight. To book a Taxi will cost 17 euros, to take the bus will cost 1 euro 40 cents, or you can walk or thumb a lift. The ski room is a nightmare at peak times, very narrow corridors, with about 30 people all struggling to put boots on etc and having to move to let others get past. The pool is ok but the sauna as broken whilst we were there. You do have to wear a hat though and they sell them for 4 euros. There is no ambience in the restaurant, the lights are very bright but the staff are helpful and friendly. One evening we had mussells and it took 4 attempts to get some, as each time they bought out a pot, they were gone, we nearly gave up.
The staff in the ski shop are really good, friendly and helpful.
I would not go to El tarter again as there is no apres ski, however, the plus side was no late night revellers waking you up in the small hours.

Booked a ski holiday at the last minute and had to go to Euro Esqui. The location was poor as it is located between el Tartar and Soldeu. We were very impressed at first by the quality of the hotel. The rooms were modern and well maintained. The hotel ran a transfer bus which was great but this meant you had to drink in the hotel no happy hour. The food was realy bad it was mostly cold, poor choice and quality. Watch out when booking taxis as we were charge 19 euros to go 1 mile to soldeu. We walked back as we were not going to pay again. They apparently charge you as if they set off from the capital city Andorra la Vella. The skiing in ther area was really excellent with 200kms of piste.

Chose the Euro Esqui above others due to the leisure facilities and wasn't dissapointed. Best time to use the pool & sauna is about 4pm before most guests arrive back from the slopes.
Hotel is very well run and spotlessly clean.
Although close in proximity to the soldeu bars and nightlife, it's a very steep 20 minute walk, and taxi fares can be a little erratic.
Very good dining facilities and variety of food available.
Shuttle service to gondola was reliable and punctual and only a very short distance away.
Would definitely stay here again.
