“Fantastic value for money”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Very impressed with this hotel. Lovely bar/lounge area with comfy sofas, cosy & warm, and free wifi where you can relax and feel at home.
Food couldn't be faulted. Buffet selection so you can try as much as you like. Breakfast excellent, wide selection of hot, cold food, continental, savoury and sweet things. Evening meals varied each night. Free glass of cava on Friday night! Don't miss the tubs of ice cream in the freezer!
Our room was on 5th floor at front. Comfy beds, toiletries supplied, hair drier, tv but only channel in english was bbc world news. Only complaint was it was right next to lift so a bit noisy but never woke us up. Had a peek in rooms at back of hotel and these looked even nicer, more spacious with bigger windows/ balconies. We didn't mind though as we got a late cheap deal.
We walked up the road to gondola with our snowboards most days, took about 15 mins. Found that buses were regular in the morning but didn't seem as regular in the afternoon so walked downhill back every day. It would obviously be preferable to be closer to gondola but we didn't mind the walk really.
We booked lift passes/ equipment hire with Andorra ski holidays online. Found this to be good value for money (cheaper than in resort). They dropped off the lift pass and voucher at our hotel. Hire shop was pic negre at top of gondola. Would recommend, efficient service, nice new boots.
Boarding was excellent, arinsal runs were quite different to pal so nice variety. Arcalis definitely worth a visit.
Après ski pretty good seeing as arinsal is a small village. Drinks offers every night including free beer in quo vadis every day. Would recommend lunch in quo vadis, good pizza and coffee.
Overall would highly recommend boarding/skiing trip to arinsal staying at st gothard.

This hotel is more 3 star than 4 star, but the rooms are comfortable, the staff are helpful, the bar is good and the food is adequate and plentiful (tho not if you're a vegetarian). I would happily stay here again even though it is a 10 min uphill walk to the ski lift.

Just returned from a fabulous week at this hotel. We booked it as a last minute skiing trip having read many trip advisor reports and felt it was worth a try despite some negative reviews. Both my son (16 years old) and I were very impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff , the cleanliness and most of all the food. There was so much choice at breakfast and dinner that even the fussiest eater would be catered for. We asked for a quiet and a non smoking room - we were on the 5th floor at the front of the hotel which we were happy with - we could hear the lift next to us working but it wasn't loud and didn't disturb us. Fresh towels every day if you wanted them and beds made daily. For us the compromise staying here was the distance from the gondola. The ski bus picks up outside the hotel very regularly early morning and drops you right outside the gondola so we used to catch the 9.20 or 9.40 bus and it worked very well. Not much in the resort at all, a couple of grocery shops and a few bars - some have offers for drinks and snacks between 3pm and 6pm and that kept us going until dinner at 7.30. Overall this hotel exceeded our expectations and I'd happily return there.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel had balconies were very sunny during the afternoon. Rooms at the fron...

Just back from a fantastic stay at the St Gothard can't fault this hotel . The staff were extremely helpfull and frendly ! By the end of the week our 2 girls age 9 and6 new most of the staff by their names Raymond in the restaurant met them every evening with a lolly each ! The food catered for most tastes and it was nice to try some foods you wouldn't normally try . Alright maybe the hotel is beside a river if it keeps you awake then you haven't skied hard enough ! We hired a locker at the top of gondola saved us carryng skis and boots up and down with us. If you keep good time you can get the free bus up and down from gondola with no problems We traveled with neilson our rep was a nice guy called chaz he couldn't have been more helpfull would recommend the husky ride over in pal got some great video and pics cant wait to get back to the st gothard and arinsal next year

Went on Andorra Ski with Topflight. Had read many of the reviews on Tripadvisor and was a little concerned given many negative comments. I should have trusted my judgement. While it is not the Taj Mahal it is clean comfortable spacious with a friendly helpful staff on the front desk, on housekeeping and (where it matters most) in the dining room and bar. They all went the extra mile to be helpful and welcoming and make our stay memorable.

One review talked about the noise from the river, We were overlooking the pool and river (and yes that is the better side as it has a lovely view) and the river was high as there had been a lot of snow which was melting but the noise from the river was really soothing.

We had a couple of little issues like the hairdryer was overused by my son and went into meltdown - it was replaced within an hour - no trouble. One of the bulbs blew - changed within 10 minutes. There was always someone available. Housekeeping came every morning and changed everything - fresh and clean for a really good nights sleep.

And the food. There was a great selection for breakfast and as much of it as you want. We were catching a bus at 3am - breakfast was ready and while there wasn't as big a choice as normal it was really adequate and the staff who were on were really friendly and encouraged people to take fruit/scones etc for the journey. With two teenage boys we thought dinner would be a problem. No way - there was always a huge choice and as much as you could eat. And desert!! We were in Andora and offered them dinner there but they preferred to get back to Arinsal because of the craic they had with staff and other guests.

I can't praise it enough. Keep it up.

Room Tip: Yes ask for a back room for view and on higher floor if you are over bar area - it really didn't...

Had a fabulous week skiing in Arinsal, weather permitting... The hotel was of a very good standard, staff were very helpful. The meals were varied and there was plenty of choice, breakfast was the same a good choice and i think plenty there for everybody regardless of how fussy people are. i complained on my first day, as the shower head was very low, so i had to stoop, to get under it, and the sink took ages to drain away. The girl on reception took note, and said she would action this, on my return that day from skiing, shower head had been raised and sink cleared out, all functioning perfectly. Well done the receptionist. :-). The downside for me was the noise carrying up through the atrium onto the first floor where i was, i'm all for people having a late drink and a bit of noise, but seriously till 3 in the morning, it is a bit harsh in a family run hotel, then it all got a bit out of hand and staff were threatening with the police!!!! PS don't serve drinks and drunks till 3 in the morning!!!!!!. But all in all, was a reasonable hotel for the cost.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear of building are peaceful from evening traffic noise, but you do want to be away from t...

Having been on 30+ ski holidays to all the popular and often expensive resorts, staying mostly in chalets, this hotel was delightful. Having read some of the reviews I wasn't expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. Wifi zone great, allowed for free easy communication back home. Andorra's mobile network is iffy! Could not fault the food or the service in the restaurant. We were not expecting evening entertainment so John, resident English entertainer, worked very hard to engage guests and provided nightly quizzes, bingo (not a fan, but lasted only 10 mins and I won!) tribute nights, and a selection of live rugby/ football to keep everyone happy. Drinks reasonable prices. We didnt have to venture out in the evening at all.
We stored our skis in the cage and walked back down from the gondola each day so we could call in the supermarket to buy bread and ham for next day's lunch. Worth the €10 charge.
Conditions were fantastic. Ski area wasn't extensive but getting cable car to pal extended the area. I would definitely go back and stay at the same place. Didnt queue for the lifts, lots of room on the pistes and this was half term peak week! The rooms were too warm, but at the end of a hard day and you return cold and weary, it's definitely preferable to a cold room.
All in all, great value for money, mostly English speaking guests.
