“Good Hearty Food and GREAT birds.”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Fresh trout and home-cooked food make this a nice place to stop when birding and seeing the beautiful valley. What makes it special is her lunchtime ritual of putting fruit out for the birds. She pops out the back door everyday at the same time and whistles and nifty birds including the acorn woodpecker and flame-coloured tanager flock to feast. You're quite up-close and personal with the birds, much like at the nearby Paraiso de Quetzal. We visited there after an outing where we saw FIVE quetzals with our guide, Leo Garrigues.

All round, a nice way to spend an hour.

“Costarrican typical cousine”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

A few Soda's (as we call diner's) have the taste, quality and price as Comidas Tipicas Miriam. You will never leave this place hungry. Plenty of food is always served at very affordable pricing. Miriam and Lilliana are always ready to serve the food are we are used to eat, fresh, tasteful, all with a home feeling as a plus.

Try the fried trout, it's delicious.

“Lovely place, great service !!!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

We've visited Doña Miriam a couple of times, great trout and service. Doña Miriam herself attends the visitors, she's a lovely and friendly lady, always ready to let you know where Quetzal's have been seen for the day. We'll go back every time we're in the area, love the family atmosphere.

“excelent food, nice views to the valley”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

there is a warming stove that helps with the cold, ask for trout which is the specialty, I only asked for that as it was so good I didnt want to risk having anything else, in addition to the main dish there is always something more, it sometimes is cofee with home made bread or a delicious papaya desert, plus there is always birds outside you can watch while you wait for food.

Typical place with excelent service, very kind, this place is a must.

“Love it!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

I'm costarican and work in an office all the time, so I'm usually tired of sophisticated food, instead I'm always looking for traditional Tico meals... And doña Miriam restaurant was the place I was definitely looking for! I recommended at 100%!
