“Good food, amazing (low) prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

Our family of 3 ate here for under $20. The service was friendly, smiling and quick. The food was modest (typical Costa Rican fare) and well prepared. The outstanding part was having exotic birds come to the feeders while we ate lunch. Great opportunity to eat as the locals do!

Stop to visit with Miriam. She has a super patio where you can watch fantastic birds while drinking coffee and her food is excellent too. Nice woman!

“Great value, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Has all been said, but if you want good local food in a friendly setting you will find this a lovely setting with the added of very friendly staff and a lot of birds. We went for a trout Cascado and the trouthy was fresh and plentiful and served with veg, beans , rice, homemade Mora and tea and coffee. The bill for 2 adults and one child came to 10,000 colones or 20 usd which is very cheap by CR tourist standards.

“delicious and super value - try the breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

Typical Costa Rican food, for a good price. This small restaurant does not have a menu, but offers what they have that day (usually you can chose between fish and beef). They serve delicious trucha (trout) in large portions, with a lot of rice and beans, and a lot of vegetables. A dessert is included. Everything is home made, so it can take some time before you are served. For a full menu we paid 3500 colones per person, a very reasonable price for what you get.
Be sure to arrive before 7PM, as they close early!

Breakfast is also great, you get lots of fruit, rice, beans, pancakes, .... In addition, there are some nice feeders for birds in the morning, a great location to see woodpeckers, sparrows, hummingbirds, tanagers,...

Worth a visit!

“Comida Casera tipica”

This is real home-made Costa Rican food, cooked over a wood stove. Plentiful, delicious, and very reasonably priced.
