just arrived back from mahons again and if anyone thinking of going to there please go and experience this place, they dont hassle you like other hotels like is everything ok how many times are you asked this in other hotels and you start to get sick of this even when you are eating well mahons seem to have this sorted you are not torturedwhile eating, its such a lovely quiet hotel ok the bar might need a make over but the service and friendliness of the staff makes up for this and a very warm welcome you must go to see for yourself

If you ever get the chance to go to County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland then I would really recommend this hotel in Irvinestown approx 10 mile from Eniskillen. Mahon's hotel is a family run business that go more than the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and at home. The food is fantastic, the service is fantastic and the regulars go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Friday, Saturday and Sunday night there was entertainment in the bar. It was our first time in Northern Ireland and we will definitely be visiting Mahon's ago in the near future.

We stayed here for two nights B and B and an evening meal, the hotel is cosy with a lovely wee bar downstairs which had live music one night and was fun to watch the locals havin a wee dance! People are very friendly and the rooms were spotless, iron, tea and coffee nice bathrooms, large bed wardrobe, hairdryer sky tv. Great deal for a short break and the wee pizza shop across the road do lovely pizzas. Only one downside was it was warm when we stayedand had to have windows open so the road was noisey and there is a clock tower near which chimes almost every hour ( including the middle of the night ) which was terrible. The food is lovely and the hotel is near everything, but if we stayed again Id ask for a room at the back less noise from outside.

My friends and myself have visited county Fermanagh for the past 30 years usually to enjoy the fishing on Lough Erne however, this has been a little patchy for the past 4/5 years so during our visit this year we spent some time exploring some of the smaller waters in the area with surprising results, many of the 8 anglers in our group only fish club matches,so 100lbs+catches of bream and roach are few and far between but this was achieved this year and on a pegged out and officially and recorded 5 hour match. This was without doubt due to the help of the staff (Joe and Paul Mahon in particular)and patrons of the hotel (including Kevin Ashurst a previous world angling champion)who went out of their way to advise on the areas we should fish. The hotel itself is a very friendly family run affair with an excellent restaurant and extended hours bar facility (with live music on every friday, saturday &sunday night). The rooms are furnished to a yery high standard and provide excellent ancillary facilities. If you want to visit the area to enjoy the fishing, walking or golf then this is the place for you.

We usually have a wee break in Donegal before Christmas but as it is so expensive just now we decided to try Fermanagh .I looked on the internet and noticed Mahon were doing a great deal so we went there. This hotel is lovely ,Joe Mahon is a real gentleman with a great sence of humour. The food is good and the rooms are big ,bright and have a fresh feel about them. The bar area has tradional Irish charm with friendly staff.

This is a well managed family owned hotel

The room was great and the food was also excellent - the portions were huge.

The service from all the staff was wonderful, friendly and gracious.

The locals are not afraid to chat strangers.

There are at least 5 other pubs in this small town to try. The Central in the Main Street being the best of them. It is a beautiful old pub with lots of original features (old casks behind the bar and beautiful wood panels) with lots of friendly locals - well worth a visit.

For younger people Floyds looks worth a visit.

I would definitely stay in Mahons again and go to The Central for a pint.

Don't expect to go to bed at 11pm!
