“Good food”

Excellent restaurant. Hotel Ritter have three restaurants by the way:
Ritter Stube, the main restaurant. Wilde Ritter, a one star Michelin restaurant (in 2014) - reservations are recommended. Ritter Keller for lighter meals.

The menu was very tasty. German cuisine with a molecular touch. The sauces served with the fish and meat were absolutely amazing. The dessert was the only small disappointment (heavy, not refreshing and average in taste) and this is why we give this restaurant 4 and not 5 stars. However, if you are in the region, you should defintely eat there!

“Excellent and very tasty dinner”

Well, food selection on the menu is superb and so is the taste, once served.
Great service- a bit pricy, though. But if one want or need to eat in house, this place is recommendable.

“Not too many food - but that's delicious with a wide range of wine choices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2011

I visited several times the restaurant of Hotel Ritter in Durbach, Germany. As I know the chef of the restaurant has/had a Michelin star. But that's not the most important thing. The foods are simply delicious, the waitresses are superpolite and the ambiance is also good, if you like traditional German "stube" style. (Lots of wood on the wall and sealing, wooden furnitures combined with iron.)

Durcbach is a famous wine-area in Germany, as I know here you have to most wineyards (40-60 winemakers) on one squarekilometer. So you have to taste one local German wine, even if you think, Germany is not famous about wines, but bier. The region is famous more about white wines. But if you don't want to you have a broad possibility to select from wines from different countries. They have even wines (Tokaji) from Hungary which is a famous desert wine from Hungary.

Before you order anything, you get fine home made bread with olive and vinegar as some appetizer. The snail soup is very nice, the fish foods (salmon, catfish) aswell, but in general I never got bad food in the last years. Ritter has a sophisticated cuisine so don't expect brutally big portions and German "Weisswurst"! Then this is not your place!
The prices are quite high but not idiotic high. (In the hotel of Ritter you can rent a Porsche 911 so expect this kind of conditions.)
