I stayed at the L'Ancienne Boulangerie in Caunes-Minervois in early July and had a really spectacular experience. I cannot say enough about the owners--the establishment was recently (a few months ago) purchased by two lovely Irish couples and they make the place what it is--extremely friendly and welcoming, hospitable, clean, and human. The husbands are a retired lawyer and police officer, respectively, and the wives are teachers in Ireland. They helped with
directions to nearby attractions, they helped with restaurant reservations. They were interested in hearing about what everyone did
during the day, but they were not intrusive. The rooms are interesting and clean--they're on two floors of this ancient bakery turned into a little inn and I believe there are five or six rooms. The town itself is small but interesting and there's a wonderful restaurant across the street from the b&b, as well as an amazing table famille, L'Oustal, in Citou, a short drive away. I DEFINITELY recommend L'Ancienne Boulangerie.
