“Cosy and comfortable”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

I stayed four nights in this lovely B&B in the charming village of Caunes-Minervois while doing some wine touring in the region. Sarah is a lovely host who made us feel like we were visitors in her home. For me with my bad back, I have to say the bed I stayed in was extremely comfortable, and that I slept soundly every night. The bells from the abbey at 8am every morning were a lovely way to wake up (or sleep through as I did at least twice!). I would happily return here and recommend to my friends. Thank you Sarah for a great stay!

When we arrived here late at night and very tired, the hostess served us a carafe of wine and some chips on the beautiful outside terrace. It was so wonderful. then she made reservations for us at a nearby restaurant that was also wonderful. When we ran out of gas and couldn't use our credit card, she went with us to the gas station and paid with her card and let us reimburse her. What a wonderful host. We highly recommend this quiet B&B in a small town away from the crowds of Carcassone. The rooms were very nice and clean.

A quiet, homely B&B in the idyllic setting of Caunes-Minervois. The hospitality provided by Mark and Sara was truly wonderful. The complimentary wine upon arrival was a lovely touch. In the rooms, the towels were fresh and fluffy and the bedding crisp and clean. Breakfast was plentiful. The free WiFi was an added bonus which meant I could keep in touch with family and friends back home. You could be mistaken that this B&B is actually a hotel!!! I can only echo the latest reviews on trip advisor. A big thumbs up...

Perfect B&B in a equally perfect South of France town. Sarah is awesome. She really takes care of her guests and adds extras to make your stay memorable, like slippers and bath robes. There's an outdoor terrace to relax while sipping your complimentary welcome beer or wine. I loved the bedroom and all the decor. It's just what a quaint french B&B should be. I appreciated the classical music being played at breakfast. Great breakfast by the way. Parking not a problem either, parking lot very near the B&B. Sarah recommended a very good restaurant, where surprising, I had some of the best Chinese food of my life. I hope to make it back to this part of France to explore the Cathar region more.

We have just returned from a week in L'Ancienne Boulangerie and it was an unforgettable experience. We had visited Caunes-Minervois before and knew how unique this beautiful village is: but Sara and Mark, the owners, made this a wholly new experience. The previous owners of the B&B had let it go, but Sara and Mark have obviously spent a lot of time and money on making it welcoming and comfortable. To be greeted with wine and a snack, but most of all with a genuine smile of welcome, was wonderful. The spotless room, with its beautiful linens and very comfortable bed, was so much better than every other of the many B&Bs we have stayed at in France. The breakfast was so much better than the normal French B&B breakfast, the position - down a tiny and picturesque street, yet close to the centre of the village and just a few minutes from the excellent bar/restaurant - made the visit very convenient for these two elderly travellers. These two young owners have pulled out all the stops and deserve to succeed, as we are sure they will. GO and enjoy every moment.

Room Tip: No. 3 should perhaps be your first choiceif it is available, with direct entrance to the charming te...

This B&B succeeds because of the spirit of the owner - Sarah. Property is nicely furnished, clean, and pleasant. Great rooms with extras that make you feel at home. We visited in June from Chicago. Spent quite a bit of time talking with her which is why we travel. I hope to make it back someday.
