Walking into this hotel decorated throughout in local marble is like the set of " allo allo"! A really charming old fashioned hotel with welcoming staff. An old traditional establishment with comfortable beds , wifi throughout and good value as well. An outside terrace looked ideal although a bit windy during our visit. On site restaurant satisfactory with local produce- not Michelin starred but quite acceptable with a reasonable wine list. A quirky memorable hotel

A curious find, this, but an interesting one. Wherever possible, everything in this hotel is made of local marble (there are tours of the local quarry-ask Madame-they take around 2 hours) wine racks, statuary, pestles& mortars-even down to the scent bottles on the washstands. The rooms are well decorated in a rather austere (but nonetheless very French) style, and I should suspect that a winter stay could be rather chilly, but in spring, these were very comfortable. One of our party was even put in his own self-contained suite!..
We chose the ‘all-inclusive’ option, so took our dinner in the ‘Salon de Thé’. Dinner was perfectly acceptable, but rather bland. The Confit de Canard was a little tough, and both the Soupe de Poissons, and the Cassoulet tasted rather generic. The sorbets, however (pineapple & mango) were superb. In better weather, all guests dine communally outside, and I suspect this adds a great deal to the experience. Although the restaurant was popular with local diners on our night, we were all sat at different tables, with Madame frantically trying to cope on her own-fortunately, we weren’t in a hurry!..
Minervois is a hugely productive wine region, so it was somewhat disappointing to be offered such a common wine list, at fairly ambitious prices-we chose reasonably well, but expected better. Breakfast was the usual French fare-although the local yoghurt deserves a special mention.
Overall, an enjoyable stay in a real whimsical nonpareil. Good value (E87.50 including dinner), but a better dinner could be had elsewhere…

Room Tip: Each room has it's own distinct character-but beware the paper-thin walls!

We found this place thanks to the local tourist office. It is one of the historic buildings in this town and the rooms have been down up to reflect this. They are clean and comfortable with all the necessary items you need whtn staying in a hotel. Since it was Sunday it was also the only restaurant open and so we had our dinner here. It was a simple stew but very good and after weeks on the road and eating in restaurants it was like eating a home cooked meal. Breakfast was also included in the price of the room and it was very good as well. I would recommend this place.
