I stayed here with my touring caravan in late June 2012 for 2 weeks. The site is excellent and is well kept and has generous sized pitches. The site has many facilities, heated outdoor pools, golf, make, children's activities etc. The owner has recently opened up a restaurant just outside the gate which we tried. It was very good food and good value for money ( we had the 17 euro meal). It is not the normal rip off restaurant that you find on some camp sites.

The site is ideally placed for the casual cyclist (flat around the area!!) and Saumur is a few minutes drive away.

Overall a great site and we have already booked again for next year.

Just returned from our half term break with Keycamp on this wonderful campsite, what a wonderful week. Weather a bit iffy but otherwise we had great fun, accommodation was old but well looked after and very clean. The reps were fun, full of enthusiasm and really helpful. Will be booking for another break in July!

Our last visit to this campsite was probably almost 20 years ago. We were not disappointed upon our return. Various updates have been made to tempt more campers. An excellent pool complex with water slide and flume, separate safe childrens pool, covered pool and an additional outdoor pool. Spotlessly clean. The pitches are spacious. We stayed in three mobile homes via a British camping company. The pitches could have done with a grass cut, but this must be difficult with a constant turnaround of clients. The owner was cutting pitches that were vacant. The restaurant has now been resited just beyond the entrance barrier. The site owner told me this was to accommodate more diners and increase the size of the kitchen. The new restaurant had been open three weeks and were experiencing a few 'teething' problems with orders. I really do hope this is rectified. All in all a superb, clean, safe family site. Probably too quiet for teenagers

Camped for 5 nights. Site divided into a number of areas which helped give an impression of smallness.
We were not there dusing the height of the season and the site was relatively quiet.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Facilities were kept very clean and regularly inspected but though there were dispensers for toilet seat covers throughout our stay these were never filled.
Free WIFI is available in the vicinity of the adequately stocked shop, reception and bar area. The shop has a freezer in which ice blocks can be refrozen at no charge.
We ate in the restaurant on one occasion and the food was satisfactory. The Le Grande Bleu restaurant in Saumur was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Pools and loungers were never overcrowded though not sure what it would be like in the busy season.

Room Tip: Not in full sun

Spacious, clean, lovely pools and slides, lots of playing space for kids, lovely bar, restaurant and kids activities. I don't think this site could improve much more. Its a lovely size, not overcrowded and seemed very safe. Very few french campers at the site which was a shame, mostly uk and nl.

Firstly I would like to complement the site on the huge touring pitches; I travelled here with a big twin axle caravan (7.99 metres in length) and was amazed when shown the pitch. Usually you turn up to a site and there is only one way the caravan can be sited on the pitch, at Etang it took me half an hour to decide where on the pitch to put the "van". We stayed on Etang de la Breche for 10 nights as part of 3 week touring holiday that took in Paris and Bruges. I found it very well kept site, with loads of space for the kids to play. The facilities were well kept and my children loved the pools and waterslides, although the level of supervision in terms of lifeguards by the pool left a lot to be desired. The bar, whilst not cheap (is anywhere in France these days) was adequate and things like ice creams and take away was reasonably priced. I particularly like sitting on the terrace having a cider after a hard day by the pool. The weather when we were there was up and down, some days good and some bad but as I kept reminding myself this is north western France and not the med. Therefore if you’re looking for guaranteed weather it’s not the place. However if you’re looking for a site with great pitches, good facilities, friendly owners and a laid back atmosphere then this is the place. Most people I spoke to had been coming to the site for years, what better advert for a good site than repeat business....

This was a friendly campsite with a mixture of mobile homes and tents.

I would describe this as a small campsite, but with plenty to do. The staff were all friendly but we did not have much to do with the entertainment side of things, as the children soon made friends and we hardly saw them.

It was the end of the season, so the shop was not well stocked, but there was a supermarket within 10 minutes, and we had barbeques most nights. The layout of the camp was well thought out, and there were lots of open spaces for children to mingle and play.

The girls particularly loved the horse riding ( and the instructor!), who was a lot of fun and very engaging. They went every day, and whilst I am petrified of horses, he managed to get me on my daughter's horse when she was initially too scared to, and then threatened to make it canter, but he ran alongside all of the time and let any child canter while he made sure he had both the pony/horse and the child safely within reach.

The water complex was good. The slides were satisfactory, and even though the girls complained that they were a little boring, they were never off them for long.

We did not try the restaurant food, and the wine in the bar was a little expensive, so we got it from the supermarket instead.

This was a good holiday even though the Loire region was not, in our opinion, as beautiful as the Dordogne. But that didn't matter. The children were not bored for a second.

In short, you wont be dissappointed!

All mobile homes/lodgings within easy access to centre and the whole place is fine for wheelchair users. It is all very flat.

TIP: Look at it on Eurocamp/Keycamp and then book direct as you will save a lot of money!.

We travelled by train but there is now a new flight from Manchester to Brive with Jet2.
