Im reasonably local and fancied going out for sunday lunch. a beautiful pub with a nice atmosphere but after so many good reviews i was dismayed to find i was served over cooked vegetables, dry boiled potatoes, a slightly congealed fatty piece of meat all with a film of bisto style gravy. Yuk. i shall not be coming back.

En route to for a 1/2 term break with the family (2 Adults, 2 Kids, 2 Dogs), we wanted to break the journey with lunch & not being fans of 'factory pubs', we consulted our 'Good Pub Guide', to find the Fox&Hounds @ East Knoyle. We did get lost and have to ask a 'local' who was more then pleased to get us back on the "right path"The majority of the lunch menu was via blackboards, with a varied selection of dishes; we chose (from the blackboard) starters of Samosa's & tempura battered king-prawns, followed by chicken caesar salad, Cannelloni (I'm not vegetarian, but stuffed with a blue cheese!! nice!), cooled by a local pint. For the kids; Pasta & Parmesan / Chicken Nuggets with fries, followed by ice-cream = clean plates - say no more :-) Food was hot, tasty (esp. the Samosa's!), and served in a timely polite relaxed manner. This Pub is definitely on the list to return to, if we are passing that part of the world again. Very reasonably priced, and when the food / beer was quality you don't mind paying. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent pub menu with lots of tempting items. Sitting in a little nook we enjoyed fish and real ale. Very welcoming as usual and well worth the detour.

I have eaten here a few times, and NEVER had a bad meal. The staff are friendly, good range of guest beers and ales. Two specials boards and menu no chance you cant find somthing to eat.
A village pub with cosy feels - my fav! Lovely views over wilts/somerset area, a hidden gem.
