Was there to visit Stalag Luft III and pay my respects to my uncle and not for a leisure break. Room very odd with tiny window, dim lighting and a dribble for a shower. Breakfast had some odd items (beware warm milk on the cornflakes!) and UHT milk for the tea. Menu interesting with some peculiar variations. Don't suggest trying any of the Polish dishes .... they seem to like soggy cauliflower and broccoli even on pizza! As others have said, also beware the Polish wedding. Goes on all night with incredibly loud music. Take ear plugs. Also continues on the Sunday. Don't order lunch there on a Sunday, they were so busy with the wedding that our lunch still hadn't arrived after an hour. But they will prepare cheese rolls if you ask - much quicker! The town isn't much but the train station is worth seeing, that's where the Great Escapers escaped from and it hasn't changed since then.

Hotel Willa Park was a nice place to stay, we were there for 3 nights for a Polish Wedding. FYI Polish weddings go until 4am and they had 2 while we were there. I went up to the room periodically throughout the night and you could definitely hear the parties below. It is an old hospital so there are some "odd" layouts to rooms and spaces throughout the hotel. Because of this some of the rooms either seem jam-packed full of furniture or having WAY too much space. Our room for instance had enough room for 2 couches, a desk and 2 other chairs in a small seating nook. We made plenty of jokes about ghosts and the possibility of the spa being in the old morgue space but dont let that detract from staying here. Otherwise everything was very clean, both the rooms and the bathrooms.

Breakfast was good almost like a homemade version of what you'd get at a typical american hotel. You will get instant coffee and kiefer milk so beware. There was also your typical spread of yogurt, breads, meats and cereal. Just dont expect normal american breakfast. We didn't eat any of the food but all the catering for the wedding was done by the hotel and it was fantastic. Roast duck? I'll have thirds!

My biggest complaint was the beds. Ours was lumpy but I still had a decent nights sleep, must have been all the vodka. Free internets was greatly appreciated and the service was very good. Everyone was very patient with all of us 'mericans and english speakers even those who didn't speak english. It was also a great deal, very cheap rooms for the level of service and quality.

It's quite basic. Breakfast is very average. No room is safe if there's a wedding party as the noise will ensure you won't get any sleep. It's close to Stalag Luft 3 POW camp (The Great Escape) which is why I go there.

Nice hotel with very high ceiling, we wee told that this hotel was placed in an old building that was previously a hospital. Unfortunately we didn't receive breakfast because it was eaten by tourists who had it at 7. When we came at 8 nothing was left. We could find only tea and coffee, bread and butter. Room was good with fen in bathroom.

Spent 4 nights here visiting family, we had a double room booked at the Okatex next door, this seemed to be being done up so we were told to report to the Willa Park!

The reception staff when checking in was snotty about 2 men staying in the same room, 'get over it woman'!

Food was good and well presented by nice staff in the evening, there is nowhere to rexlax as the reception where there are 2 comfortable chairs and settee's was very busy with staff too-ing and frowing from the Bar, reception, kitchen etc, on tiled floors, in heels!

Our room as small with too much furniture in it, hot water did not work on the Sunday night we arrived, told something wrong, however when the Hotel filled up on the Monday night by Film Crew all was well - strange that!

Breakfast was good, a bit of a bun fight with many rude people.

Will we stay again yes, as the only place really in Zagan?

Looking at the main building as you drive in reminds you of what the Soviet hospitals look like but the service and comfort are much better these days. Friendly staff, excellent cafe lattes, and decent food in the small bar area help make this a decent stay. The beds could be upgraded as they are soft unfortunately but the rooms are of decent size. Free internet is a nice add-on. Although we didn't use the spa, that is why you would want to stay here. Looked very impressive.

This hotel was a hospital about 5 years ago and still has that severe look and feel. The rooms are small and not very comfortable. Bathroom reeked of urine and there were always smokers beneath our window. One morning I was woken up at 4am by partiers just below my window with loud talking and music.
Sundays breakfasts run from 9-11am and we got there at 10:30am and almost all the food and drink was gone. I asked for juice and some was brought out but no more food. Not worth the price to stay here but not many options.
The area is where The Great Escape actually occurred during the war. There is now a museum and you can tour all around the stalags and barracks - this is worth the visit.
