The setting was breath taking and the teachers took personalized time with each student. The Chef and owner is Countess Amalya T0massini Barbarossa who places a personal twist on traditional recipes: Bresaola Rolle, tagliolini, Tiramisu, among other wonderful foods. Our finish was to eat the meal we had prepared with their own wines made at La Ghirlanda. The warmth and passion displayed by the staff was fabulous.

This hotel has everything for a relaxing vacation in the Umbrian countryside. Friendly, great service, all amenities are top notch. The hotel restaurant meals were delicious.
A great place to get away and spend a few days relaxing with family or friends.

Perfect setting for our Painting in Italy course, so peaceful, apart from owl calls, with beautiful views and a super team looking after us. The location is not for those who look for busy city life but ideal for rest and recuperation or as a base for your own plans and activities , you can however arrange through the hotel attendance at the cookery school next door.
You will need your own transport to visit nearby towns, Assisi is close and Perugia within an hour, the lack of air-conditioning should not put anyone off from visiting this example of beautiful rural Italy.

We had the opportunity to spend a long weekend with friends at this hotel (which was once the hunting lodge of the owner's father).
Beautifully converted with tastefully decorated rooms - many with breathtaking views over the Umbrian Hills. It is impeccably clean and the staff cannot do enough for you. The restaurant serves fresh produce under the auspices of the owners wife who also runs a cooking course in Umbrian cuisine.
It's so peaceful you can regularly hear a pin drop. Yet if you need wifi it is solid and good.
I would go again and again!

Considering you are staying in old Manson type hotel with its limitations ( no airco for the hot summer days, bathroom clean but a bit dated) this is wonderfull place to spend a holiday in Umbria. The small "negative" points are neglictable compared the great views, the friendliness of the staff and last but not least the GREAT DINERS. Do not stay there without enjoying the excellent kitchen prepared with local products !
