“Good hotel ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

The hotel itself is on a street with multiple hotels. Located in a residential area. A few food places within walking distance. Behind the hotel has a few hotels and bars.
On the corner is a cafe and a block away is Paris bakery. If you want south you can walk to marina area which has a few restaurants. Walking east along water has few restaurants too. There is a grocery store on the Main Street. ( remember to bring your own bags)

The rooms were large and service was fear. We had a view of the bag which was really beautiful.

You can easily get a taxi from the taxi stand on the corner. Getting to expo area attractions was about 8-10 US dollars. Yeosu does have a bus system which we did not try.

No restaurant. Only breakfast. At lest out of the high season. But there is a nice fancy restaurant just 50m away "Florian Restaurant". Great view!
Rooms are quite big and really nice.
Wifi is everywhere, I mean in every building around there us an open hotspot.

The ocean views are most definitely the biggest reason why I'd recommend this hotel.
We had a family room with two single beds and a twin, it was designed very cleverly. The bathroom was separated glass windows. Although you could let down the blinds it doesn't give you much privacy, smth to keep in mind if you'd be in a group other than family. Also if someone uses the bathroom at night, turning on the light would wake up everyone else.
But the entire room was spotless, newly done and modern.
If you don't like kimchi for breakfast the continental option consisted of cereal, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and toast. It was ok for a short visit. What I didn't like though is the breakfast room is just too small so at one point there was a queue at the door.
Plenty of options around though (caffe bene, tous les jours...) as an alternative.

Room Tip: Ocean view is definitely worth the extra!

Finding a hotel online for Yeosu that was reasonably priced was not as easy as it seemed.
If you are coming by bus, get off at the Intercity Bus Terminal and NOT the Express bus Terminal. It is closer, and will cost half the taxi fare to get to the hotel.
The hotel itself is very clean and very modern. The room we stayed in was fantastic, spacious, clean, everything you could want. The bed was unbelievably comfortable too.
I opted for a room with an ocean view, which was an extra 20,000won. The luxury of waking up to the ocean and having a terrace too to sit on in the morning is great, but I was a bit disappointed with that fact that cables were in front of the terrace, somewhat obstructing the view, and the building next to the Benikea (to the left, if facing the hotel) sticks out that it blocks the full view of the bay. Saying that, it could've just been from the room we were in (401).
At 130,000won a night, it isn't the cheapest place to stay in comparison to some of the hotels i have stayed in throughout Korea, but does come with breakfast, which is not too bad.
The staff were friendly, but someone below mentioned that they helped book bus tickets. Twice I asked for this to be done, they didn't do it because they didn't seem too keen on doing it, and seemed a bit clueless too.
The only issue was the location of the hotel. Someone mentioned that there weren't many places to eat at, but nearby is Donenu, a great galbi restaurant that is reasonably priced too. If you go out of the hotel, take a right to the end of the strip of hotels, turn right at cafe bene and keep going for 2/3 minutes, you will get there.
This hotel is absolutely nowhere near the expo site and the central part of Yeosu like many people said. Despite the city having hosted the expo, getting about the city isn't that straight forward, and the bike system that they have in place, with bikes around the city for people to rent was absolutely useless.
Yeosu is an incredibly charming place and one of the nicest places that I have visited in Korea. It has major potential to be an amazing city and I hope the future brings that.

Room Tip: Hotel is quite far away from the expo and all other things worth seeing in Yeosu. Ask for a room hi...

Very well appointed bedrooms with the most comfortable beds, quality bed linen and large bathroom. The views over the sea are stunning. The staff could not have done more to help us and were very attentive and polite, helping us with booking bus and ferry tickets and sourcing tools for bike repairs. The breakfast was good with a large choice of foods.
Only slight gripe was that a lot of the restaurants, bars and cafes around the hotel strip were shut (September) so there was not much choice for eating within walking distance

Three of us stayed in a very well appointed room, June 2013. Service was courteous and cheerful. The beds were superbly comfortable. Views of the sea were great. We walked to parks and restaurants. This is a great choice in Yeosu!

Room Tip: Ocean view - you won't be sorry
